Pocket Truss Rod Wrenches

About This Item

Pocket-size steel hex wrenches that fit in your guitar case. The 1-1/8" (28.58mm) socket is tapered to fit into recessed truss rod access cavities.

For 5/16" Gibson and other hex truss rod nut sizes.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches for the repair shop. The length, durability, and variety of sizes let you perform truss rod adjustments efficiently.

Not all truss rod cavities are the same width. Make sure the wrench will fit your cavity by comparing the outer diameter of the wrench barrel to your guitar.

Wrench Outer diameter
#6104 For 1/4" nut 0.385" (9.78mm)
#6105 For 9/32" nut 0.405" (10.29mm)
#6106 For 5/16" nut 0.436" (11.07mm)

These tools are available in our money-saving Truss Rod Wrench Set.

Rickenbacker Truss Rod Problem Not Solved

By

Unfortunately this well made product did not fit under my new Rickenbacker 12 string truss rod nut because the truss rod cavity is simply to shallow. This is a problem which Ric is well aware of and appears to dismiss by advising the owners should grind down the nut drivers. Either way the guys at Stew Mac were really nice and helpful but it is not there fault. I will get a grinder I guess.

Great fit and finish, fits easily into even a tight truss rod opening, and at a good price.

Bought it for my 2017 gibson les paul traditional T. My wrench was missing so went ahead and bought this. It fits perfectly and quality was good.

I bought this cause I was fixing a friend's 1981 Gibson Les Paul and the trussrod end was a 5/16 nut end and I had to order this tool cause the bullet shape fit into the trussrod slot nicely and got the job job and the guitar plays great!

This comes in handy when you need to adjust a Gibson truss rod. Odd size and requires a thin wall compared to your standard socket.

Not much to say here... I needed this for my Jackson Dinky DK2M, and it fit like a glove. Now I am able to adjust my Jackson's truss rod easily with this tool.

Correct Tool for 1982 Peavey T-45 Bass 5/16 inch Truss Rod

By

I had a straight long-handle tool designed for Truss Rods, but it would not fit into the cavity on the headstock, even with all of the tuners removed. The tunnel is curved, and the straight tool could not align with the truss rod nut, even though it is less than an inch inside the tunnel. This L-shaped wrench reached right in and successfully turned the nut. I got the 5/16 inch size, which was recommended for my 1982 Peavey T-45 Bass . This wrench is not large, but it is sturdy enough to exert a lot of force if it is needed.
