Fret board covers

Excellent product priced right, but I go find that you will need to cut a few down because they won"t fit higher up the fretboard on most guitars.

Good but needs improvements

These work but are awkward. They are a pain in the butt to hold down when using a marker. Other than that they do what they are intended to do.

Good idea, but needs refining

By Tim Gospodinov from NYC

They are a good idea but I had to customize them in order to make them work. Generally anything medium and above fretwire, in my case, didn't fit, also 20th fret and above they were too wide to really fit between the frets (in some cases actually marking the neighbouring frets, so... I can suggest to enlarge the slot by 1mm and make the side narrower by at least 1mm, and the thing is since there are 6 in the set you can make the sides narrower only on one or two, sides work ok on hi lower frets. I do find them easier to use than taping when doing just quick fixes on marks on the frets.

Nice, works ok.. hard to hold onto.

To me, it's just easier to do a good tape job on the fb. These are clumsy to hold while working on the frets. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

No Repair Shop Should Be Without  a Bunch of These!

I can't count how many time these little guards have saved me additional fretboard cleanup! They fit around the frets nicely and for the price save me a lot work in the long run. If you do a lot of fret work, these are great!

Finger board guards

Worthless for Banjo. Hangs over edge way to far, gets in the way. Not tight enough on the fret to help much. Bending doesn't help, makes it worse. Use masking tape and save yourself some time and money.

Truly great, but how about longer lengths for bass?

I couldn't do without your fret guards, they're truly great. But I hope that one day, you'll have longer lengths available, so I don't have to cut them up and tape 2 of them together for use on 5 & 6 string basses!

Great little tool for minor touch-ups

(Customer's Reviews) Sunday, December 12, 2010

This is actually a 4+ star review. The design and the choice of materials works well in 80% of my shops needs. I have modified a few of my guards to fit 24 fret fingerboards and some of them I've bent one end to get my thumb out of the way for precision fret end work. I like the fact that they don't rip!!! Recommendation: make some that are narrow to fit between the frets higher up on the neck. Keep up the good work SM.

fingerboard guards

Hi Stewart, this fretboard guard are wonderful to protect the fingerboard, just to do individual frets. In this way you don't have to cover the whole fretboard. Unless you have to level all the frets. Thanks
