Protect your guitars from cracks or swelling!
Monitor humidity and temperature to help protect wood and finished instruments.

Excess dryness makes wood shrink and crack. Excess humidity swells wood and blushes newly sprayed finishes. Our large, easy to read gauge monitors Fahrenheit/Celsius temperature and relative humidity in workshops, wood storage areas, guitar display cabinets and finishing rooms.

Tested in our shops for accuracy, it features a big 4-1/4" diameter face and a detachable stand for mounting on your wall. A wise investment that never needs batteries!

Overall dimensions
4-3/4" diameter x 1" deep (120.65mm dia. x 25.4mm deep)

Very Nice Hygrometer

Big, easy to read. Mounts direct to wall (if desired). And, mainly: Accurate. I've had poor results with many hygrometers, including supposedly calibrated ones, and as a result have a "team" of them in my shop and I have taken the more-or-less average of these for the true value.

This one reads correctly, based on various comparisons. Easy to read. Will shortly be mounted on my wall in the "prime" spot in the shop for easy reference.

Excellent product at a great price. Well done Stew Mac. I love your tools!

Awesome! I always doubted my electronic "weather center". Sure enough I set this in my studio my concerns were proven true. This by far is more accurate.

Convenient and Easy to Read

I love having this in my home recording studio. It's easy to read at a glance from across the room. I live in the dry desert southwest, so keeping the humidity up is important for both my guitars and 7-foot grand piano. Toward that end, I humidify the whole house as best I can and guitars generally stay in their separately humidified cases, but they do come out for extended periods when I'm recording or just playing and practicing. Accordingly, it's handy and important to know the humidity level and temperature in the room. This unit provides that.

What can I say, long time player just getting finally into doing some home tech work. Got a bunch of great stuff from SM for that purpose, including this. Works great! Accurate and easy way to keep track of your room's humidity levels. And act accordingly if it's too high or low. Very cool...

This item I think is much easier to read and more consistent reading than any digital or electronic ones I've used. An essential shop aid.

I knew I needed one, just not how much.

I usually keep my guitars in their cases with humidifiers. However I do keep them out on a stand from time to time. I used to go by what the weather channel said was the local humidity levels. That was a mistake. Now, with a quality gauge I'm finding that it might be 90% outside but inside it is 35%. I picked up a humidifier and now have no trouble keeping it around 50%.
