It wicks hot solder up from congested pots, terminals, or whatever you're soldering. And it's cheap. Nice to have around the toolbox.

Never used a wick before but I'm finding it's a great tool for cleaning large gobs of solder cleanly and efficiently.

Solder Wick is Great!

I was an Electical Engineer for 32 years before having to retire due to serious illness. I have used this product many times to make modifications or salvage parts. It's only problem is using it in tight places. In those instances a solder sucker works better. I have the same solder sucker unit that Stew-Mac sells except that it is now over 25 years old and still going strong and I paid more 25 years ago than what Stew-Mac is asking now! Both are a good deal and once you start using them you'll wonder how you worked without them!
