Gripper Truss Rod Wrenches

About This Item

Dang! Somebody used the wrong size wrench, and now you can't adjust that worn Allen truss rod nut. Fear not, our Gripper wrenches can save the day!

Each wrench has a 3/8"-long end that tapers from slightly undersize to slightly oversize, giving you a snug fit to turn the nut and avoid a costly replacement job.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches. The length, comfortable rubberized handles, durability and variety of sizes let you perform formerly difficult truss rod adjustments with ease. The straight wrenches are 12-1/2" long, keeping your knuckles safely away from the peghead.

#6210-G Gripper wrench has a special angled handle for tuner clearance on 6-in-line pegheads. For 1/8" Allen nut; 2" reach.

Special notes for the soundhole wrenches
4mm is for Hot Rod truss rods. #6110-G is for pre-August 2007 Martins; #6114-G and #6212-G are for later Martins. Triple-bend wrenches provide clearance under the guitar's braces.

Game Changer!

By

Verified Buyer

This Gripper Truss Rod Wrench is a complete game changer. Bought a '99 Strat about a year ago, haven't been able to adjust my truss rod due to the nut being in very bad shape.

With the Gripper Truss Rod Wrench I was easily able to adjust my truss rod - even with a nut that's almost completely stripped.

I'm very happy with this purchase.

Got this for some work on an '83 Fender precision elite bass with a bi flex truss rod. Provides an excellent bite to adjust the truss rod as well as the built in neck angle adjustment mechanism on the back. Very good product. Plan to get the rest of the set for my shop!

4mm saved my Lakland 44-02 Skyline

By

As the title says, I was so excited to have scored me an affordable Lakland to discover after the fact that the truss nut had been rounded off.....I got the 4mm gripper...... and slowly and carefully turned it until the relief was there. Excellent tool for an excellent bass!

It saved my 2004 50th Anniversary Strat!

I used the right angle version of the 1/8" Gripper Truss Rod Wrench to safely get the rod moving again. I let the guitar sit for much too long after I bought it. Then, upon "mobilizing" it, I found the end had been damaged. The tool did exactly what the good people at Stew-Mac said it would and my Strat plays beautifully now. Thanks, Stew-Mac!

Truss Rod stripped on Ovation Adamas

By

Verified Buyer

I am so hurt about my 1981 Adamas II. I used the wrong Allen wrench on the truss rod and stripped out the Truss rod socket. I was hoping so much that the Gripper Wrench from Stewmac would fix my problem. It did not do the job. The action is still too high from Fret 7 upward. I don't know what to do now. God gave me this guitar in 1982 and I have loved her since then. Our local guitar tech won't touch her. The Gripper Wrench is a great idea in the hands of a true Guitar Repairman like Dan.

Absolutely Amazing!

While attempting to get my Strat Plus set up properly after making some bridge changes, I was struggling with allen wrenches that didn't fit well, were hard to grip, and left me fearing that i would strip/destroy my truss rod. So I stopped what I was doing and ordered the Gripper. Within a couple minutes of it's arrival I made my final adjustment and moved on to enjoying my instrument. The wrench dropped right into the socket and gripped as I adjusted, with no slipping or hesitation whatsoever. Absolutely amazing. Buy this tool!
