Gripper Truss Rod Wrenches

Dang! Somebody used the wrong size wrench, and now you can't adjust that worn Allen truss rod nut. Fear not, our Gripper wrenches can save the day!

Each wrench has a 3/8"-long end that tapers from slightly undersize to slightly oversize, giving you a snug fit to turn the nut and avoid a costly replacement job.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches. The length, comfortable rubberized handles, durability and variety of sizes let you perform formerly difficult truss rod adjustments with ease. The straight wrenches are 12-1/2" long, keeping your knuckles safely away from the peghead.

#6210-G Gripper wrench has a special angled handle for tuner clearance on 6-in-line pegheads. For 1/8" Allen nut; 2" reach.

Special notes for the soundhole wrenches
4mm is for Hot Rod truss rods. #6110-G is for pre-August 2007 Martins; #6114-G and #6212-G are for later Martins. Triple-bend wrenches provide clearance under the guitar's braces.

Trade Secrets!

Bad news: a stripped truss rod nut. Good news: an easy solution.

Erick Coleman's using the Gripper truss rod wrench to solve a problem that's familiar to all of us.

Fits perfect!

I never had a truss rod wrench for my Martin. I used a longer type Allen wrench years ago to adjust the neck relief but, it didn't feel "right". Years passed and I lost my old wrench and since I have started doing my own work I decided to buy a proper truss rod wrench for my acoustic. I wasn't thrilled about the price but love all the Stew Mac products I purchased prior and this was no different. My 2004 Martin fit perfect and didn't have me second guessing whether it was fitting properly. The rounded end and the grip made for easy adjusting and this guitar now plays 100% better and was worth the money in doing myself and giving me the confidence that I wasn't going to strip out or damage the truss rod adjustment slot. I shopped around and first and decided to just go with Stewmac. Glad I did.

I am overjoyed at the moment! I have a Fender Jazz Bass MIM that needed serious truss-rod adjustment…but NONE of the hex wrenches I tried were long enough to reach into the neck far enough AND provide me with any leverage. I was about to give up and just order a new neck, when I heard about these angled Gripper Wrenches….so I ordered the 5mm one and have been waiting impatiently for it to arrive….

It came about 5 minutes ago. And it WORKED!! Instantly. Went all the way in, grabbed the nut and I was able to tighten the truss-rod with ease.

So psyched!

cured my depression

I bought a used MIM Jazz Bass, and discovered after I had re-finished it that the truss rod was stripped. I was not happy, because I had put so much work into the bass. This tool worked great! I was able to give the neck that one more 1/4 turn it needed.
