A dangerous book

(Customer's Reviews)

A great reference guide that I will keep forever. The danger is that for the first time I'm taking an interest in working on my guitars and I'm wanting to buy a lot of expensive tools! Very smart of Stew-Mac to be selling this book.

Just buy it already!

(Customer's Reviews)

A must have for any repairer and luthier.

There is a lot in here for players too so it is really a book for anyone who owns and cares about an electric or acoustic guitar.

I've been building acoustics for since 2003 but never do electric repairs so I enjoyed grabbing this off my shelf for some action / setup tips for a friend's Telecaster.

Great Book

(Customer's Reviews)

I have only had this for a couple of weeks. I have read and reread several sections more than twice, I have not made it very far into the book and have learned a lot. I will wear this one out. I am starting to put flags on the pages I want to refer back to. Tons of information, to much for me to absorb in one or two readings.
This is the best reference book for Guitars I have ever read.

A Must Have

(Customer's Reviews)

I had seen a friend's copy, knew I had to have one. Dan Erlewine's signature was a plus ; the fact that he dated it:9-31-16 is priceless.

Great reference source

(Customer's Reviews)

The book is well-organized and gives plenty of info on how to get your guitars in top shape. I've already used a couple of techniques described in the book and will put others to use as I work through each guitar I have. Nice touch having the booked signed by Dan Erlewine!

Great buy!

(Customer's Reviews)

This book has all the info needed for a basic setup to a complete restoration. And the best part is that it's written in a way that everyone can comprehend. Full in depth instructions from basic to as deep into it as you can get. Highly recommended to all shop owners and DIYers alike.

Great help!

(Customer's Reviews)

Has everything I need to know about working on my guitars.

A Beginner's Delight

(Customer's Reviews)

As a novice, I have found a wealth of information that has already benefitted me in the past couple of weeks. From understanding the workings of the bridge, saddle, saddle slot, bridge pins, string angle, and string placement against the sound board, to the proper installation of the nut and the placement of strings on it, this book has enlightened me and enabled me to take a poor sounding guitar and transform it into a decent sounding instrument. I have a lot to learn and to do to tweak my test instrument but I am confident that when I do the adjustments using the information in this book, they will be done well.

I highly recommend the Guitar Player Repair Guide to the beginner who is set on doing it himself or herself. There is enough information about the why as well as the how to send me in the right direction for a lifetime of learning and doing the repairs and setups on my instruments. With pictures and step by step instructions, most repairs are going to be done with confidence and ease. Well worth the small price I paid.

excellent addition to any how to library

(Customer's Reviews)

Great for anyone beginning and wanting to get away from high priced repair shops. Thorough enough for anyone to learn to take care or their own equipment. The advanced techniques make you want to get more books and learn more especially fretting and inlay work.

For Me ? The ABSOLUTE BIBLE of guitar maintenance !    Worn out 3 copies.

(Customer's Reviews)

Over 35+ years I have worn out three copies, and replaced two copies I lost. Without the book, I am afraid to touch a guitar, the wiring diagrams, various measurements, tips, pics...Words are lame now - st
