Great book for any serious guitar player

By

I'm very glad I purchased this book. After reading it thoroughly I ran through practicing my new knowledge on my Strat and my ES330. The correction of the intonation made a major difference on the Strat, with chords up on the 12th fret now sounding absolutely solid. It helped with the 330, as well, but just not as dramatically. I'd recommend anyone who loves to play their guitar(s) get this book and learn how to address the common issues that will occur. It can also enable you to replace pickups and adjust/clean the tremolo, bridge, nut, tuners, etc... If you are a serious player, I believe this book would be a great benefit to you.

Not only is it well written (concise without being too brief) it includes nice pictures (worth more than 1,000 words) and came signed by the man himself on the inner leaf. Worth every penny.

This book is a great reference source on setup and examples of famous musician for reference on a variety of example setups from an experienced well spoken Guitar technician and builder Dan Erlewine. I'm having trouble locating the reference videos for it. That's the only reson for the 4 stars. I give Dan 5 stars.

Good read

I have the book on painting guitars, fretwork and now this little gem. There is a lot of information in these books and I keep running into important tips all the time. I think for a basic library of guitar repair this is a must.
I am working on old cheap guitars from the pawnshop discard bin in order to hone my skills so I can work on my own instruments. I have turned some really crappy instruments into playable, fun projects using info from these books and tools from StewMac

I play guitar and I have adjusted my guitars to play better all the time, sometimes really messing it up and having to send it to the shop (My luthier always tells me that its going to cost more if I set it up). Here is a coherent system to address playing problems easily and in sequence. Thanks Dan and thanks for signing my book

I wish that I would have purchased this publication years ago. I print a lot of the individual StewMac tips and watch a lot of the videos provided, but this book is a wonderful reference piece for my library and is so easy to understand. It pays to get advice from an expert like Dan.

PS ---- Thanks for autographing the book Dan. Now I won't have to go all the way to Anaheim and the 2018 NAMM Show to bug you.
