Very Satisfied Customer

By Gerrie Knight from Timaru New Zealand

Having arrived at the stage of completing my first Archtop Jazz Guitar, with the exception of acquiring a suitable case, it is the appropriate time for me to say thank you!! I could not find fault with either the books, tools or materials that Stewart MacDonald supplied. The help and advice given has been much appreciated. My thanks to Robert Benedetto for his informative and inspirational Archtop plans, book and videos. The service provided by Stewart MacDonald has been second to none and you may therefore consider me as being another very happy and satisfied customer. Photo attached which I trust will be of interest. With grateful thanks, Gerrie Knight

Benedetto Archtop Plans

These Plans are a work of art. I had them laminated as soon as I received them. Excellent detail for building your first Archtop but I do agree with ChrisG that a contour map should have been included in these plans. I wonder what Benedetto's thoughts are on this comment.....Cheers!

Errors and Omissions.

By ChrisG from Winnipeg, MB Canada

This is a well drawn plan, but the user will have to draw out their own contour maps of the top and bottom plate...a major omission, in my opinion. And when you try to make a contour you will find that the back arch sections do not match up to the back longitudinal seam section. The back seam section in the plan agrees with the template provided in the back of the book. As an instance, section D is more than 1/8 inch deeper than the same spot on the seam section. The same applies to the other back sections. I will have to re-draw these sections in order to make a contour map. The top arch sections match up nicely. This plan is not inexpensive, so this is a disappointment.

Best drawings I've found

These are the best drawings I,ve found. They are suitable for framing. I am a about 3 guitars away from attempting to make an archtop, still the details in the drawings, along with Benedetto's dvd ,and book have made making my two piece body with laminated carved top, electric guitars much better, and the one neck I made using drawings, and Beneddeto's techniques came out very high quality.

These are so nice, I went and had them professionally backed and mounted at a hobby store. Now using plexiglass to trace and make perfect templates. A-1.

A work of art

These plans are exactly like described. Very detailed/thorough and they look like a work of art! (Something DaVinci could have drawn :)) I plan on using these plans and the Benedetto book/DVD's to build my first archtop guitar and after I'm done, these plans are going to look great hanging in my office/music room. Thanks StewMac!
