Tuner Screws for Solid Pegheads

About This Item

Phillips roundhead screws are ideal for modern tuners. Slotted roundhead screws are perfect for traditional tuner styles and vintage instruments.

Waverly guitar machines use slotted screws. Both styles are 3/8" long.

Pilot holes required: Installing delicate screws such as these into hard maple requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend using a 3/32" bit for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Tuner screws

These are nice to have available. You would be lucky to find these in a hardware store.

A must have around the shop.

These are a little bigger that I expected. But that makes them stronger also. These small screws are so easy to strip the heads, always need replacements around.
I am rebuilding an old electric bass that needed all of the tuner screws replaced. Striped, corroded, rusty and just nasty were the screws before.
Great price for 100 of these jewels.

Bought 100 and replaced all the screws on all my guitars. They are made so much better. Never notices how all the screws were dull and tarnished on all my instruments.

Wonderful

Perfect size for that one screw you can't seem to find anywhere else. They are a bit pricey when you add them all up, but that's what bulk pricing is for. I'm elated StewMac finally offers gold Phillips head versions.

Need gold Phillips heads

These screws fit perfectly in my cheap-n-nasty LTD's tuners after the stock ones stripped, and I've just bought some more for my Les Paul. Good quality and very handy to have around.

Don't use supplied screws...

By
(Customer's Reviews)

My stock tuner screws bent and sheared off during installation (see pic). I was using a pretty small screw driver and correct sized pilot hole, so I was pretty frustrated at the time. I mean, who wants to drill out a sheared screw? This should be the simplest task to not have to worry about. Anyhow, these replacement screws were obviously made from a higher quality metal. They did the trick perfectly. Next time, I'll just buy these and throw away any supplied screws.

Great

I got these to replace the ones the Gotoh tuners came with as they had poor reviews. These seem much more substantial and screwed into the wood just fine. I received the wrong color initially, but the quickly corrected the problem at no cost to me, attesting to StewMac's great customer service.

Phillips stainless: Grover Replacements

By

I put Grover tuners on my guitars. The screws that came with the 102's were soft and slipped will installing. I bought these; they matched perfectly. Only tuner screws I'll use.
