Sperzel Trim-Lok 6-In-Line Guitar Machines

About This Item

Sperzel's rear thumbscrew locks the string, making these machines ideal for tremolo guitars. For 6-in-line pegheads.

The string posts on 6-in-line sets have graduated height (no string trees needed). Cast gear housings with sealed lubrication. Single pin mount keeps tuner from rotating, no mounting screws needed. Recommended for 1/2" - 9/16" (12.7mm - 14.29mm) thick pegheads.

• 12:1 ratio
• 10mm (13/32") diameter pegholes required
• Removable metal knobs
• Threaded peghead bushings included
• Sets of 6

Staggered string posts:
The Sperzel 6-in-line tuners feature 3 heights of string posts in each set. The tallest two tuners are used on the E and A strings, the medium length posts are used on the D and G strings, and the shortest two posts are for the B and E strings. This allows the E, B, G, and D strings to have a steeper angle off the nut than with traditional tuners — eliminating the need for string trees.

Superb stability - my template was accurate

(Customer's Reviews)

Very stable, accurate, and incredibly smooth. The template requires you to use a needle pick to mark the exact center of the hole, and a straight edge (taped) to the headstock for consistency. They don't recommend or mention that, but I do :p.

It should not be easy; the tuners should not flop around - snug is the way to be before the nut is even on.

Sperzel Locking Tuners

(Customer's Reviews)

Received tuners in 3 days, Put them on a kit strat that I have replaced all hardware including neck and was having trouble keeping in tune. Put on the Sperzel and was amazed at how well the guitar now holds 440 pitch. As other customers stated the cardboard assisted placement templet was not accurate. I reverted to marking the end of the metal dowel with pencil led giving me accurate hole placement for the metal dowel. Sperzel could put a thin metal template in the kit with accurate punched holes to assist in mounting tuners. Other than that they are smooth, easy and fast loading. Great product will order again for my tele.

Don't love the Sperzels

(Customer's Reviews)

I bought Sperzels for my Strat in 1985 when I read Keith Richards was using them. Were always fine. I don't really like these Sperzels. The action varies among the tuners and is not smooth, especially when tuning down. These tuners also made me realize that I don't like locking tuners in general. Now that I have an electric string winder, I prefer the more traditional tuners. I really like the Grover Rotomatics. They also have a finer tuning ratio-- 18:1; rather than the 16:1 of the Sperzels.
