  • 18:1 gear ratio
  • 3-left/3-right with mounting screws
  • Removable ebony knobs
  • 10mm (13/32") diameter pegholes required
  • Knurled press-fit peghead bushings
  • Available in satin chrome, matte black, and Metallic (translucent black)

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the #2065 Bushing Reamer (0.393" diameter) to cut a clean, accurate counterbore for a professional job. Fit the press-fit tuner bushings correctly so your tuners will work smoothly.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Excellent upgrades

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I have been playing my guitar with these tuners on for over three months. I put these on my Taylor GS Mini mahogany and they have an excellent look and a solid and precise feel. They are a perfect fit; the bushings fit perfectly in the original holes and the base of the tuners cover the pre-existing pin holes in the back.

They are also much lighter than the original tuners and the guitar now feels more balanced (being a smaller instrument). It's an excellent option for people looking to upgrade their tuners in their Taylor GS Mini.

Update

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I thought an update is necessary. Schertler have changed the grain orientation of the Ebony buttons, so they should not come loose in high humidity any more. Stew Mac (thank you) replaced the problem tuners and there have been no reports of any more problems from my customers. I am still using them.

String Breakers!

By
(Customer's Reviews)

First off, these tuners look great. If they functioned as well as they look I would be delighted in the product. But they do have several flaws. The first being they're responsible for 4 broken strings on my guitar already (2 e and 2 G strings), and I've only had them installed for four days. The string gets kinks in it when it wraps around the post, and when you tune down and back up, SNAP! All four strings have broken at the post. Next, they don't tune smoothly. They turn as smooth as glass, but I don't notice a change in pitch until after sometimes a whole turn of the button. Lastly, others have complained of the grain orientation causing their buttons to fall off. I've not experienced this, and live in a low humidity climate (Utah) so I don't anticipate this being an issue, but heed their warnings if you live in a high humidity climate. I won't be purchasing these again.
