Grover Vintage (135 Series) 3+3 Tuners

About This Item

Vintage appearance plus modern cast baseplates, keystone plastic knobs and 14:1 gear ratio. For 3-left/3-right pegheads.

Threaded hex bushings, washers and screws included. 10mm (13/32")-diameter pegholes required. Set of 6.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Drop-in Replacement for Grover Rotomatics

By

Verified Buyer

I bought these tuners to replace the Grover Rotomatics supplied as standard on current Epiphone Les Pauls. Great tuners, these make the guitar look more balanced, in keeping with the original.

Grover Tuners.

Called up StewMac, spoke to one of their guys and was assured these tuners would be an easy "drop-in" for the "loose/wiggly" Gibson Deluxe tuners on my '95 Les Paul. Well, he was exactly right! I was able to take off the old tuning machines and replace them with these new Grovers in about 1/2 an hour. They look great, fit perfectly and are very tuning-stable. Highly recommend them and the folks at StewMac! Bob from TN.

Holds Tune Extremely Well

Great, great tuners-- I used Stewmac's Rear Peghole Reamer to open the peg holes on the headstock of an Epiphone Casino Coupe to allow these to fit. These tuners are used with a Bigsby and hold tune incredibly.

These tuners were perfect for my Blueridge BR180 guitar.

I wanted something that I could install without any drilling or altering hole sizes. These were a perfedt match to the originals. The Grover Deluxe 135s were a snap to install and are much smoother than the Blueridge originals!

Stay more in tune

The Grover DeLuxe tuners are much better than the Gibson tuners. I replaced the original tuners on my Les Paul Tribute '61 Reissue SG. There is a noticeable difference in that they feel much more solid and they keep it in tune. They only took 30 minutes to replace them, as the holes and fittings were identical. I'm very happy with them !

I bought these for one of my early 90's reissue Les Pauls, and ordered this set to complete the changeover. They are way better then the originals, but look exactly the same. It did help a lot to buy the special reamer to install them. Great value.

Replacement so fast and easy that it amazed me.

"I'll replace the one 'funky' fifth-string original Gibson gold tuner," BUT after ten minutes' time, replacement almost done, I thought - Why not replace the other five, too? To swap out all six original Gibson tuners took an hour's time, and I was tentative and thoughtful about it. No other holes or adjustments necessary (for my Gibson '90s acoustic-electric) for the task. These new Grover Vintage tuner machines hold well and seem quite tight to my touch; I wonder if my original Gibson tuners were old and sloppy. The simplicity and ease of this replacement of tuners amazed me! Perhaps I'm fortunate that no screws broke and all pieces were clean and they mated perfectly, but this guitar is well-made; that counts for much in today's consumer guitar market. These new gold Grover tuning machines look fine on my Gibson A/E guitar, too; as attractive as the original gold tuners.
