Grover Original Rotomatics (102 Series) 3+3 Tuners

About This Item

Popular since the '60s, Rotomatic tuners are now available in 2 gear ratios. For 3-left/3-right pegheads.

Rotomatic® full-size tuning machines feature large removable metal knobs with adjustable tension, cast gear housings and lifetime sealed lubrication. Sets of 6, for 3-left/3-right pegheads.

Mounting screws and threaded hex peghead bushings with washers are included. 10mm (13/32") diameter pegholes required.

For 6-in-line pegheads, see Grover Midsize and Mini tuning machines.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Making oild new again!

By

I purchased these for my Epi Casino I bought new in 1974. It's had trouble staying in tune for over 4 decades; now I wonder why I didn't do this sooner? The gold finish matches my gold Epi hardware perfectly and aside from a few extra holes on the back of the headstock, they look like they came from the factory. 18:1 ratio really helps stabilize things and they were over $20.00 cheaper than the Schallers. Well worth the money

Painless Install

I replaced the tuners on my Heritage H150 guitar which I bought back in 1991 with the Grover Original Rotomatics. This is first time I ever did any kind of work on any guitar and I was dreading it. Luckily everything went great! Maybe 30 minutes to remove the old tuners and drop in the new ones which fit perfectly. The guitar stays in tune and is fun to play again. Thanks!

Great upgrade for my Seagull

By

I had a couple of tuners go bad on my Seagull SWS Dreadnought. Godin was very quick to send me new ones, but I decided to buy a set of Grovers from StewMac. I was careful to measure everything, and they fit just like the originals with no modification to the headstock.

Grover Tuners

I love grovers. They fall in the middle of the price range, are visually and functionally tops. Martin used them for years.
These are being installed on a minstrel banjo guitar I'm building.

Replacing tuners on my Yairi

By

Verified Buyer

I purchased these (Grover 102 series) tuners to replace the original tuners on a 1988 Alvarez Yairi acoustic guitar. While the guitar was able to hold tuning quite well, it was often difficult to get "in tune." With the Grovers, however, it is much improved in that regard...easier to tune and stays in tune, and were a direct replacement. As a bonus, it seems to sound better as well. I am very happy with these tuners and would be pleased to recommend them to all.

New Machine Heads

Big step up from the stock Casino's. Had to slightly enlarge the post holes - sanded them out with a dremel.

Great tuners

By

These replaced some unknown brand on an Alverez acoustic. Tuned it up to pitch with new strings and let it sit for a few hours, retuned for string stretch, haven't had to retune since and it has been about a week now. Before the tuner change, it was being retuned every few minutes.

Smooth tuners

By

I have a Arbor made LP copy and the machine heads were, frankly, sloppy. They had a tough time staying in tune and getting tuned was frustrating at times. The Grovers were solid and smooth and helped with my sustain more than I thought they would. Highly recommended!

Perfect!

I bought the Grover Original Rotomatics as a replacement set for my 1998 Taylor 610CE acoustic and was a tad worried they might not match or look less than original. They are absolutely perfect! You wouldn't even know they were not original outside of the normal dulling of the finish and that's not that noticeable. Thanks StewMac customer service for helping me out and making sure I bought the right set.
