Gotoh Vintage Keystone-style 3+3 Tuning Machines

About This Item

Vintage-style keystone knobs and stamped housings make these tuners the ideal vintage tuner replacement or upgrade. For 3-left/3-right pegheads.

These fine reproductions feature original style stamped gear housings, but have modern improved 15:1 gearing for smoother, more precise action. The knobs are molded greenish plastic, just like the originals!

New tuners with vintage appeal: distressed look of the Relic Nickel plating is perfect for repairing old guitars, when shiny new hardware just won't do.

Screws and round press-fit peghead bushings included. 11/32"-diameter pegholes required.

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the #2062 Bushing Reamer (.340" diameter) to cut a clean, accurate counterbore for a professional job. Fit the press-fit tuner bushings correctly so your tuners will work smoothly.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1713 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.44 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Replaced Stock Gears on Epiphone ES 1275 Double Neck

By

Verified Buyer

These Gotoh machines were a direct replacement for the stock tuners on my Epiphone ES 1275 Double Neck…the peg head bushings were just a bit tight in some cases and I used light sand paper to increase the peg hole diameter just a bit so that they could be inserted by hand…these aged gears look great, feel great, and, most importantly to me, have added a stability and solidity which has improved the sound of the instrument…sustain has been noticeably increased and that alone makes it worth the upgrade…I needed to purchase 3 sets as the 12 string neck took 2 sets on its own…Highly Recommended Indeed !

Great replacement machine heads

By

Verified Buyer

I have a 335 copy -The make is Vintage. Not too bad but I replaced the mediocre pickups and as the guitar wouldn't hold tuning I replaced the machine heads with these Gotohs. It is no0w a very nice guitar and holds its tuning remarkably well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them...very reasonably priced as well.

Nice tuners.

I installed a set of Gotoh Vintage Keystone tuning machines on an arch top guitar I recently purchased. They were easy to install and work well. The guitar now looks great and stays in tune for an entire evening of playing with our band. I used a Dremel tool to drill out the screw holes and it worked well. These are well made tuners that do not cost an arm and a leg.

Too Small

By

I got a set of these for a LP style kit guitar. The headstock on the kit is the same thickness as a Gibson SG that I have and I trust the kits' dimensions but these Tuners barely rise out of the holes. The quality is good and they seem to be well made but they are too short. I Will be buying the slightly longer Grover tuners next time.

Response from StewMac

i looked for months and i could not find replacement tuners that would be an easy swap out for my 2009 mccarty smokeburst. these tuners are perfectly suited for my mccarty. the tuners are smooth and solid. i highly recommend these tuners. you may have to drill out slightly larger holes for the mounting screws.
