Gotoh Vintage-style Oval Knob 3+3 Tuners

About This Item

Traditional knob shape, smooth and precise.

These fine reproductions feature old style stamped gear housings, but have modern improved 15:1 gearing for smoother, more precise action. The oval knobs are just like the ones found on electric and acoustic guitars manufactured in the late 1940s to present.

Nickel. Set of 6: 3 left; 3 right.

Includes mounting screws and round press-fit peghead bushings. 11/32"-diameter pegholes required.

Also available: Special conversion bushings for installing tuning machines into 3/8" or 10mm pegholes, without redrilling.

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the #2062 Bushing Reamer (.340" diameter) to cut a clean, accurate counterbore for a professional job. Fit the press-fit tuner bushings correctly so your tuners will work smoothly.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1713 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.44 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Perfect fit for a Yamaha APX-2

(Customer's Reviews)

Transformed my son's APX-2 from a toy into a musical instrument. Direct drop in replacement. I used the new tuners to pop out the old ferells and reused the factory screw. Finally stays in tune! Couldn't be happier.

Great upgrade for an Epiphone Casino

(Customer's Reviews)

These tuners were the perfect replacement for the worn out tuners on my made-in-Korea Casino. No drilling was required, even the bushings fit. The only difficult part of the install was making a tool to push out the old tuners without chipping the paint on the headstock.

Good Solid Tuners

(Customer's Reviews)

These replace the cheap Chinese tuners on a lot of imports. Peg holes have to be reamed or drilled out for the bushings, but screw holes line up. Be careful with the usual thick finish on the peg head; it's easy to chip.
