Economy Covered Gear 6-In-Line Tuners

About This Item

Sometimes you simply need basic tuners that work! For 6-in-line pegheads.

• 14:1 ratio
• Fit 5/16"-diameter pegholes
• Press-fit bushings and screws included
• Set of 6
• Chrome

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the Standard Peghole Reamer to cut smooth, perfectly round holes.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Good product/Great price

These tuners screwed right onto my guitar in the original holes. No drilling at all. Perfect

I have just recently installed the tuners.

They seem to be fine, and have smooth action. I can't tell how well they will hold up yet since they have just been installed, but I think they'll be fine; especially for the price.
In my limited experience, Stew Mac rarely disappoints.

Does the job!

Replaced a set on a Peavey Falcon. The brass gears on the original tuners were worn down and not holding tune on a couple of strings. These solved the issue and matched the originals.
Now the beater stays in tune.
I added a bit more grease to the gears before installing, otherwise things couldn't have worked better.
Thank you!

Restored a Mail-Order Relic

My parents gave me a JC Penney Strat copy for my 16th birthday -- and let's just say it was a while ago... I still have the guitar, and it has been the testbed for many adventures in fretwork, nut-making, finish fixes, wiring experiments, and more. Amazingly, these tuners fit perfectly and tuning is much more stable. The only downside: the plating is uneven on a couple of the covers.

Best for the money

Tuners were exactly what I needed for an old Aria strat copy. Diagram measurements were exact and the screw holes lined up exactly where the old holes were. Don't be fooled by others cause 1-2mm difference and the tuners won't line up. Bushings were METAL, others tuners have plastic bushings which can bind when tuning. These are worth the extra money.

Carlo Robelli is now PLAYABLE !

Picked an old Carlo Robelli Strat Knockoff and it sounded and felt GREAT , BUT it wouldn't hold Tune , with these little inexpensive Tuners it holds tune and you wouldn't believe how it sounds now . (Sometimes you find a cheep guitar that just needs some loving care , you can find what you need at Stu-Mac .)

Sure ain't grovers, but they do work and are cost efficient for student guitars. Drop-in fit on Squire Strat

Econony Tuners

Put these on a student's mini squire with slipping knobs. They seemed too tight right out of the package, but once installed were fine. Note that the supplied bushings were slightly too big for the mini's peg holes, just used them with the existing bushings.

6-in-line

These would be perfect replacements for your cheap Epiphone Les Paul Special tuners as far as screw holes are concerned, but please note that they are 6-in-line and not 3-per-side. Beware.

Can't find a better deal.

These tuners are perfect replacements for basically any older guitar you may have laying around. These were the right size shaft for an old electric of mine, and better yet, all of the mounting holes lined right up. I've also used these economy style tuners building Cigar Box Guitars with excellent results. They're great little workhorses when you need something that will work hard forever without breaking the bank.
