Economy 3-on-Plate Tuners

About This Item

For solid or slotted peghead steel-string guitars. These inexpensive open-gear tuners will make that yardsale special playable again!

They're versatile: the 1/4" (6.35mm)-diameter string posts have double holes, so you can install these tuners on solid or slotted pegheads. Nickel-plated with white plastic knobs.

1-3/8" (34.93mm) string post spacing, 14:1 gear ratio. Complete set of 3-left, 3-right. Mounting screws included.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Unbeatable for the price.

I needed to get some 3 on a plate tuners for a Lyle doublecut, and I was very concerned that it would be difficult to find some tuners that would work. Thankfully all of the dimensions you would ever need are listed along with the product. It was quickly delivered and installing them was a breeze.

Great basic tuners...

Really happy with these tuners. I got a set to replace the factory tuners on my Gretsch Jim Dandy. The D tuner was slipping and I just could not for the life of me get it to stop, so I just decided to replace them. This set slid right in to place. The bushings were perfect. Every tuner has a better feel than the stock. So far I've had no tuning issues in the least. It would have cost me more to ship it back for warranty repair than it did to purchase these. I highly recommend them for a basic open tuner

Great, affordable solution

I used these to quickly repair an old classical acoustic and the goal was to do so in the most cost effective way possible. These did the trick. They don't slip (so far). They fit the holes perfectly. Just had to redrill some new screw holes. Would recommend for anyone who's just looking for an affordable solution.

helped make it play again

I purchased these to replace the totally broken machines on an old 1942 Del Oro Cowboy guitar I found in an antique store. The guitar now lives and plays again. They were a perfect fit including the screw holes. No additional adjustments were needed.

Tuner replacement

I needed a new post and worm gear to replace a stripped spline on my lap steel tuner. This tuner set provided the necessary parts cheaply and the mechanism worked perfectly without having to re-drill or replace the entire plate.

Great for the Purpose Intended

I find and/or buy cheaper, used guitars and fix them up for donation to various needed organizations. Many times the tuners need to be replaced along with other parts. Don' t be fooled by the low cost of these. Despite their modest construction and price, these do a fine job at maintaining tune for most guitars I have refurbished. I always keep a couple of sets at hand for simpler jobs.

Fixing up an old Kay arch top f-hole acoustic

By

I first came across this old Kay acoustic when I was in college and my girlfriend had it. I lost track of her and the guitar for over 40 years. It wound up on the wall of another college friend and I parlayed a deal to get the guitar. It just needed tuners and these Economy 3 on a plate tuners were a perfect replacement. They work well and now this old classic can be tuned and played again.

Economy, but Just right!

I have a vintage 60's guitar that didn't need any of the high end machine heads. This did the trick. Easy to install and required very little effort to install. My guitar sounds like new again. Nothing pretty, but very solid. Will be playing this guitar for another 50 years.

Repair old guitar.

The item worked well, I only had to open up the holes for the pegs and redrill some of the mounting holes. I like doing that stuff anyway. Thanks.
