Economy 3-on-Plate Tuners

About This Item

For solid or slotted peghead steel-string guitars. These inexpensive open-gear tuners will make that yardsale special playable again!

They're versatile: the 1/4" (6.35mm)-diameter string posts have double holes, so you can install these tuners on solid or slotted pegheads. Nickel-plated with white plastic knobs.

1-3/8" (34.93mm) string post spacing, 14:1 gear ratio. Complete set of 3-left, 3-right. Mounting screws included.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Price is Right

I purchased these to use with the strum sticks i am making with a group of high school students. The price is excellent and the tuners certainly work well enough for this first foray into instrument making.

It was what we needed

Bought a used guitar online, and seller failed to mention it had a missing gear on one of the tuners. I was unable to find anything that would help at the local guitar store, but found this using an online search. It came quickly, was undamaged, and fit like it is supposed to.
Thank you.

Breathing life in to an old Harmony... "Shop" guitar.

By
(Customer's Reviews)

We've had this old "Stella" by Harmony guitar kicking around where I work for quite some time. Well, it recently found itself in our lobby... now, here we are, in the Pro Audio business... with a guitar in the lobby that has a VICE GRIP for a knob... on one of the tuning machines... not to mention dust on the verge of fossilization..... and a heinous rattle wrongly attributed to the roasted tuning machines on there....

I had to take action! These tuning machines pretty much if not EXACTLY the same is the busted, rusted OEM's en situ... were close enough! Easy install! KNOBS on EACH AND EVERY ONE!!!! ;-)

So... while all the strings are off, I decide to tweak the truss rod... and discovered it to be so loose... well... let's just say the true nature of the heinous rattle was solved...

A goodly cleaning after that... fresh strings that could actually be tuned... USING YOUR FINGERS... and now whilst not a showcase instrument, at least it's playable and no longer an embarrassment.

THANK YOU STEWART McDONALD! Tulach ARD!!!!

Great tuners. Easy to install. They turn smoothly as well. I put them on an untenable guitar I got at a rummage sale & brought it back to life.
Pleased with the price & quality. I will shop Stew Mac again!

Great for a WW1 era parlor guitar

By
(Customer's Reviews)

Recently aquired a parlor guitar that dates back to WW1. Needed to replace the tuners on it because the original ones were shot. These were a great replacement of the original tuners & they look great. This is the second time that Stewmac has had replacement parts for a vintage guitar. Thank you.

I needed to repair the tuning screws on two guitars at a summer camp. The budget was key. These went in smoothly and work perfectly. They were exactly what I needed.

Probably better quality than the originals.

I bought these to replace the tuners on my 1960 Silvertone 608 acoustic. They hold the tuning well and are probably better quality than the originals. The string posts fit the peghead perfectly. Installation required drilling new mounting holes. As a note, the white plastic knobs are somewhat larger than the originals but still look fine.
