Product Details

The choice of renowned guitarmakers for their finest instruments.
Ivoroid knobs are grained ivoroid that have a vintage look.

Waverly tuners feature old style tapered 1/4"-diameter string posts and the press-fit brass hex bushings fit 11/32"-diameter pegholes. Screws included.

With Waverly tuners, your guitar plays in tune and stays in tune. Waverly's patented design combines stainless steel with bronze to create smooth, non-slip tuning. The perfect replacement tuners for valued instruments, Waverly machines are handmade to fit precisely without drilling on older Martin and Gibson guitars. Manufacturers such as C.F. Martin, Gibson, Collings, Santa Cruz, Huss & Dalton, Sams, and Bourgeois choose Waverlys for their finest instruments.

Whether you're fitting a solid-peghead or slotted-peghead guitar, there are Waverly models to fit.

Conversion peghead bushings are available for installing Waverly tuning machines in larger diameter 3/8" diameter (Grover, Gotoh, Schaller, etc.) pegholes.

Direct replacement design: No additional mounting holes to drill when replacing similar vintage machines on older Martin & Gibson guitars.

More efficient operation & more precise tuning: 16:1 gear ratio. Patented worm tension bushing eliminates looseness.

Long life with less wear: Stainless steel worm gears have twin bushings. String post gears are machined from bronze alloy; more durable than brass.

Authentic knobs and string posts: Ivoroid knobs resemble real ivory, but are a durable non-animal alternative. Old style tapered string posts are nickel or gold-plated brass.

High quality- but ....

These machines are very attractive, high quality, however, I would recommend that Waverly give a recommendation for the luthier regarding the exact hole size to be made on the peghead to tightly accommodate the bushings.

I think these tuners are beautifully designed and make any guitar look classy. they function with ease and install easily. the material is heavy duty and polished to a smooth finish. the waverly company fully supports the customer if the buyer is not happy.

I just installed these Waverly ivoroid tuners on my Gibson J-45 Standard. They look and function great (that was given). Best of all, they were easy to install - thanks to StewMac's TradeSecrets online newsletter and, not least, their customer service guy, who patiently answered several questions ahead of time. Really appreciated this, as I am not a guitar tech.

Waverlies are noted for their quality and these were no different. I installed a set on my new Martin D-18. The OEM stuff was good but wanted to get a vintage look for my guitar. The machines are so smooth and have a quality feel to them.

I replaced factory Grover Rotomatics with gold Waverly's with ivoroid buttons on my 2008 Gibson J45. The tuning stability is amazing, even when playing outdoors in Texas. Even more so was the improvement in the comfort level of the guitar from getting all that weight from the Grovers off the headstock.

Perfect tuners, and the look is right. After 57 years and a lot of butchery, this guitar finally gets the tuners it deserves!
