Perfect Replacement Tuners

By Gary Klinger from Lakeland, Florida
(Customer's Reviews) Sunday, December 21, 2014

I bought a 2014 Gibson Melody Maker for my grandson. I had a problem with keeping it in tune and had to constantly tune the guitar when playing. I ordered the Grover Deluxe tuners and put them on. They were, literally, drop in replacements. No modifications were necessary and they work great. They hold tune, even under heavy bends. They also look better than the butter bean tuners that came on the guitar.

Great tuners, perfect vintage look

I had 18/1 Grovers before so 14/1 ratio are really not that comfortable, but the tuners are smooth and the look is really vintage.

vintage and deluxe

just installed 6 nickel Grover tuners on my Epi red "dot" 335 replacing the factory "kidney" grover machines, which had a too "modern and shiny" look. Easy installed with only one extra hole for the screws and no hassle. They fit perfectly and look just like on a real Gibson...Happy I am! Ritchie T, Brittany FRANCE

Cheap Screws

By JB from Mississauga, Ontario
(Customer's Reviews) Friday, February 07, 2014

I was too afraid to drill into my Les Paul because I've had screws break on me in the past with my Fender guitars when installing new tuners. So I took my Les Paul to a professional guitar repair guy in Toronto. He pre-drilled holes and still had two screws break on him! He had to drill them out and patch the holes up with dowelà Luckily he patched everything up so the repair doesn't show. Says the screws are really cheap. The tuners themselves otherwise are very nice and work great. So, be careful with these screws...

Drop-in replacement upgrade for Epiphone Dot Studio

By Lefty64 from IL
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, January 20, 2014

I bought a set of the Grover Deluxe Keystone tuners in the nickel finish to replace the stock Grover Rotomatic tuners that came on my 2013 Epiphone Dot Studio. These were a perfect fit; no need to enlarge the post holes at all, they just dropped right in. I could have even used the stock bushings and washers that came on the guitar if I wanted, but I figured I paid for the replacement bushings and washers, why not use them? I did have to drill two small holes for the screws in the back, since the Rotomatics only had one screw on the lower part and it did not line up with the lower screw on the Keystone tuner. But that was a piece of cake. The whole operation took maybe 20 minutes, and I am no expert luthier by any means. If you can work a cordless drill, a wrench and a screwdriver, and you're lucky enough to have a guitar that already has the right sized postholes, you can do this with no problem, and your guitar will look great! The tuners not only look good but work great as well. I highly recommend these.

The quality of these is far better than the originals. But, they were still that terrible green. I cleaned up the molding ridges on the knobs and soaked them in a strong solution of potassium permanganate (condy's crystals) They are now a delightful pale brown. Practice first. With that deplorable greeness gone, they look a treat on my home crafted '59 lp. They tune well too.

Excellent Replacement Tuners

These tuners are excellent! They were easy to install, didn't require conversion bushings and gave my guitar the "vintage" look I wanted.

Sweet Tuners

(Customer's Reviews) Friday, January 25, 2013

Got these tuners the other night. Put them on a LP Jr. copy I built using all Stew Mac stuff. Pickups, pots, wire, bridge, everything but the caps. When I did it they didn't have orange drop or anything but poly so I ordered them elsewhere. The tuners are very nice and smooth. I live in Alaska and Stew-Mac has the most amazing shipping Dept. My orders always come within a week of ordering, which for Alaska is exceptional. Thank You from The AK
