The best you can get

By Christopher E from Rayne, Louisiana
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I put a set of these on my Martn HD-28V to replace the standard Martin 14:1 tuners. No mod needed. The brass gear and the 18:1 upgrade on these Grovers give precise tuning and hold the tuning great.
They are 40 bucks...but on a 3000 guitar, it's well worth it.

Great Tuner / Great Value

Having owned many tuners through the years, I believe that Sta-Tites are as good a functioning tuner for the price that you can get, for a vintage Style tuner! I bought 6 sets, far out-weighing the cost of Waverly's by comparison. Great looking, accurate tuners w/o any backlash associated w/ many other tuners. Clear winners at a resonable cost.

Very Nice

Ordered these to replace the enclosed Grover look alike tuners on an old acoustic. The gears on these are machined vs stamped on the copies. The string posts in these tuners are thicker and much more precise. Stew Mac service and shipping time is second to none.

Grover 18:1 Sta-Tites

I bought these to replace wilkinson 'snot' tuners on 335 style guitar. They've made a massive difference with tuning stability but also the strings feel different. I always felt as though the strings 'sag' when playing bends, but they feel so much more 'definite' now when playing single notes, bends and chords.

The guitar now has a more expensive playability and I do believe the tone is clearer too. I was so surprised at the range of improvements new tuners could add. I must say that open backed tuners look great on a 3 per side headstock and these fitted the kluson style footprint perfectly.

Anyone who gives these less than 5 stars is not paying attention. You get about $75.00 worth of tuner for about 1/2 that price, and they look great. The 18:1 ratio makes fine tuning a snap. They come stock on all my acoustics.

i don't find much functional difference between these and waverlies - at $100 cheaper they are a bargain

Don't let the price fool you!

I was a little apprehensive about buying these due to their low price. I'm used to spending closer to the $100 mark on high quality tuners, but I trust the brand and after reading the reviews decided to give em a try. I wanted something to replace the stock tuners on my Gretsch 5120 that still captured that vintage look. I was NOT disappointed.

The difference was noticeable right out of the box. The Grovers have a very smooth action and hold tune much better than the stock tuners...especially with the bigsby. Great product, would definitely buy again!

I just installed a set of Sta-Tite tuners on my 50s Harmony (montgomery ward) archtop. I cant believe how nice these tuners are for the price. They were simple to install & look
fantastic. You cant go wrong with these. They live up to the name that's printed on them.

Grover Tuners

By Frank B from Youngstown, Ohio
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, April 07, 2011

I just love Grover, 18:1 tuners! Grovers are made right here in Ohio, and, in my opinion, are the best tuners you can buy, for the least amount of money. I especially like the 18:1 gear ratio, because they give you extra control when tuning, and allow you to go right to the correct pitch, and stop there.

Also, my Les Paul, with Grover 18:1 tuners, holds it's tune better than any guitar I've ever had. If you're on a budget, get the Grovers! This set of "Stay-Tites" are beautiful, and have a nice, vintage look.
