Stewmac is great but these tuners are not

By Keith Adams from Covington GA

First set arrived and looked great but looks were certainly decieving. G tuner slipped terribly. Stewmac promptly replaced them. Schaller let me down in their quality control.

Perfect fit

Perfect replacement tuner for my old Harmony 178. They look nice and stay in tune perfect. No adjustments were needed and they look fantastic. Definitely recommend Schaller!

Significant improvement!

These tuners were a perfect fit (no drilling needed) as replacements for the stock tuners on my Manuel Rodriguez Model D Rio classical guitar, and are a definite improvement. They look good, too.

Great tuners

By Baard from Norway
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, February 04, 2013

These are, in my opinion, great tuners. Their tuning stability seem to be better than typical industry standard equivalents. The Schallers are truly sexy, but the gold colour is a bit too flashy for my taste. At this price, I would not buy anything else. Also, StewMac excels at S&H. Delivered to Norway in 7 days.

Solid, smooth, great-looking machines.

I built an electric upright guitarr=n (EUG) that breaks down and fits in my suitcase for air travel and practice during vacations. I wanted classical guitar tuning machines because they are compact and my EUG has six strings. These Schaller tuning machines work fine on my instrument even though my largest string is 0.135 inches in gauge. Solid construction (no wobble) as well as smooth, firm operation, and the 16:1 ratio is a major improvement over the cheap tuners I used on the prototype. They look great, too.

For the price, there is probably not many better sets available.

Le meccaniche Schaller per chitarra classica non solo sono eleganti e ben realizzate, ma precise nell'accordatura e stabili... Poi i pomellini in ebano sono fantastici...

Excellent keys, amazing function. I would like also to suggest to your site to bring accessories-keys and for instruments like bouzoukis and other Greek instruments. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any information, I'm sure that alot of luthiers will be interested.

Just a little over-priced, pretty good quality

I was a little disappointed regarding the tuners. The measurements in the diagram is a little off. In the end , the holes did not match up with the mounting screws. I have to drill new holes. Because I live in Canada, returning the item was a bit of a hassle

I was a little disappointed with the design of the tuner. The worm is basically pressed- tight by a "folded" piece of metal on the inside (invisible of course on the outside). This means the tuner would not stay tight / accurate for the long haul. The tuners are a little tight overall. Not as good as the Grovers I have on my Taylor. with the amount of money I paid, I was hoping for a better design.

The tone did dramatically improve. I should have shelled out just a little bit more money for something even better.
