TUSQ XL String Trees

About This Item

Great for non-locking tremolo setups. Teflon® polymer retainers relieve string friction to help prevent tuning problems.

Traditional metal string trees merely maintain sufficient string angle over the nut. Graph Tech's super-slick Teflon®-impregnated TUSQ XL® string trees relieve string friction as well, to help prevent tuning problems. They're made of the same self-lubricating material used in popular TUSQ XL nuts, a high density polymer that enables more efficient string energy transfer. TUSQ XL string trees are a practical addition to a non-locking tremolo setup, for smoother and more accurate return to pitch.

Set of 2. Each string tree holds down two strings.

Each set includes one short and two long Phillips mounting screws to allow you to have the downward angle required. You can cut/nip the support collar off to achieve a steeper angle typically used for E and B strings.

Pilot holes required: Installing delicate screws such as these into hard maple requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend using a 3/32" bit for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Fixed my tuning issues

Took the last bit of friction out that was causing tuning issues with vintage style strat tremolo.

Probably the best looking string trees available.

Improved Tronical Setup

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I use a Tronical tuning system on a "Road Worn" Tele and while I didn't have a huge problem with tuning accuracy prior to installing this item I think it does improve the tuning accuracy/speed and reduces issues with knocking the strings under the single string tree during aggressive bends/tremolo. I only needed one for my tele so the other's a backup or maybe I'll put it on my Strat. I wish they offered an 'off white' or 'vintage' look as the blinding white on this is rather out of place on my 'road worn' Tele, but what the heck... seems to work well, so who's complaining!?

These work great!

This was a breeze to install on my Strat, and solved a lot of tuning problems. No more "pinging" or going out of tune using the whammy bar. Looks very classy, complementing the white nut and fretboard markers. Great product!

I have to agree with all the above reviews. They are all correct in my opinion. Love mine, they work and look great at the same time.

Nice quality and they do they job - better than cheap stock string trees.

Perfect fit and small enough

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I was afraid it would be too big.
It is not exactly the most beautiful thing when you see it installed, but sure it will save the strings.

The finish was not perfect. Had to sand a little bit with a 400 grit to be perfect. The screws for the black version could be black.

Slippy as a slippy thing.

These look great and are real slippy. Will use these on any future project guitars.

Perfect

These things are perfect, installed them on my 72' tele deluxe reissue. I figured most of the tuning problems with that guitar had to do with the string trees, not the tuners themselves. And the tele stays in tune perfectly now. I highly recommend these, I don't think I'll ever have another guitar that requires string trees, and not use tusq.

As a side note they really compliment any cream or bone colored hardware you may have on your guitar. Even the nut looks great next to the string trees.
