They barely hold because they are too short and the diameter is too small

 Bridge Mounting Ring Screws

Nice screws, but they are too short for the bridge pickup. Ordered longer screws from another supplier. When I thought about it, I should have suspected the need for these longer screws. Stewmac needs to provide more info on many of their products, especially when they elect not to carry an important option. The Grogomyte cloth is awesome...highly recommend. Have been ordering from Stewmac for many years and will, continue despite some misgivings, especially the way too high prices.

Good finish to them.

These days a lot of companies are cutting corners to save a buck and if you usually don't spend over $750.00 for a guitar, you get stuck with cheap soft metal screws so I ordered these to replace all of them. Even the ears on my very expensive PU's were soft and the threads were screwed up from the factory but after re-taping them, these screws gripped them well and hold great. The finish on these screws are outstanding. No runs, pits or any defects in it. They do the job well.

Pickup mounting screws

I purchased some of these for a couple of les Paul builds. I know how to drill, wax and install new screws yet the first one broke off in the body, luckily I have a screw extractor so not a huge deal but the screws are to short for the bridge pickup rings unless you sand the ring down. They are a little small and easy to strip as well. I made them work but I wouldn't buy these again. First product I purchased from stewmac that I wasn't happy with though everything else has been amazing and I love this company. Get some new mounting screws though please, with deeper slots and longer would help as well.

O.K. replacements.

Just barely long enough for the bridge pickup ring. Also, an oval head would be preferable. In the end they did work as advertised.

Weak screws

I used 3/64" drill bit into a painted mahogany body. I used candle wax to lube the threads. First two screws broke without any effort at all (I was using index finger and thumb only... and I weigh-in at a buck & quarter, so it's not like a gorilla was installing these... the worst part is that each screw broke right at the flush-point with the wood creating a huge removal problem that I haven't yet solved.
On pickup #2, I used that gooey stuff from a wet bar of soap to lube the threads instead of wax. This time the screws went in super slippery-well... but hey... those first two screws broken off into the wood without anything to grab hold of to remove them kind of ruined my day... not to mention the guitar body. These are very small screws, so be very careful. A larger drill bit will leave you with a screw that won't tighten. (it will strip)... but don't depend on wax to get that screw to it's destination and don't think you can rub it on a dry bar of soap either. You HAVE to use the goop from a wet bar of soap that sat for a bit... you know, that gross stuff you hate when you pick up the soap from it's soap dish. I guess I chalk this up to a lesson learned. I would have given these one star except I didn't want to get yelled at by the moderator for not contacting customer service. Neither a refund nor a replacement will get those broken screws out of a once-beautiful guitar body
