Great Fit

By
(Customer's Reviews)

These over-sized bone bridge pins went into my 1971 Martin 000-18. Over the years, the bridge pin holes became larger with wear. They fit nice and tight after a slight adjustment. Not only did they improve the already great sound of this vintage guitar, they look great (much better than the picture in the catalog.)

Kinda let down.

Honestly I was disappointed that they don't really look like what's in the picture. I needed them so I didn't return them and go through the hassle, wasted money and time to ship them back. They'll probably eventually end up on one of my cheaper guitars. The ones in the picture are just white while what I ended up with looks like it's got splotches of chocolate milk on them. Every single one looks that way. Hard to describe really. They don't match the picture.

Excellent Quality & Value

I love these bridge pins due to the consistency of dimensions and the hard, vintage figured bone.

Perfect Pins!

By

Before I bought these pins for my '65 Gibson J 45, I contacted customer service for advice.
They suggested these and they were right on the money. These pins fit well, look good and most of all improve the clarity of the guitar.

Pins Keep Getting Better

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I asked for a set of pins for my Gibson AJ that closely matched the factory plastic ones in aesthetics. These were spot on in color and much better looking. A tonal improvement as well. Great pins with a nice polish. For those of you using slotted bone pins, be sure to follow the instructions in the video below by Elliot John-Conry. This will make proper installation much easier. Maybe StewMac will bevel the ends one of these days...

Excellent customer service

By

I have planned to have my bridge pins slotted on my Martin DRS2 for awhile now, my problem is that the closest Martin authorized luthier is an hour and a half away. In order for me to have any upgrades or repairs he and I have to plan sometimes months ahead. This time it was very last minute. So last minute in fact these bone unslotted pins I ordered would not have arrived in time. I called to see if it were possible to upgrade my shipping. It was too late to do that but the customer service person did not let it go at that. She made arrangements to make sure that I got my pins in time for the work to be completed. You rarely find service like that these days. You have a lifetime customer now.

As to the pins they are exactly as described, I was reading that some do not like the coloring or finish. These are real bone and like any real bone not all are going to be the same color shading. The set I got look great. By just seeing them I know they are bone.

Great job guys.

A great improvement

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I put these in a 2009 custom quilted maple Gibson Hummingbird that needed some more punch when finger picking and also in a 1956 Gibson LG-3 that needed some of the openness calmed down to get more volume and clarity.

I was not expecting a major improvement but it is quite a noticeable difference from the plastic pins. More sustain with amazing new harmonic layers. More volume and clarity without any harshness or brittleness. I feel like this is how these guitars were meant to sound.

They look great as well, nice translucent depth with patterns seen within . They may not be perfectly uniform in colour across all the pins, but it is subtle and they look way better than plastic regardless of that issue.

I highly recommend these.

Colours are not even close to consistant...

I bought these together with a saddle and nut. All are completely different colours... Not impressed.

Nice upgrade

Ordered these for my '81 Guild D-40 to replace the OEM plastic pins. Perfect fit! What a difference. Excellent upgrade at a good price.

Half good

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I had ordered 2 sets of bone bridges pins. One is perfect but the second has pins with very different colors as you can see on the photo, that's not correct to build a perfect guitar.
