I wish I would have thought of this!!

This is one of those brilliantly simple ideas the just work!! I've had to catch my guitars more than once while playing and having the leather strap fall off the endpin jack. I put one on my bang-around Taylor and liked it so much I ordered one for my '54 Gibson J-50 (my baby!).

Great Idea, just not quit designed right

Well I purchase two of these and I had to modify the opening of the strap secure button so that it would clear the jack retaining nut corners. The input jack retaining nut would lodge itself into the StewMac brass secure strap button, and upon removal it would unscrew the input jack retaining nut. Both my guitars are factory Gibson acoustics. I didnt mind paying the high price you were asking, but when I had to dremel it out so that it would clear the input jack nut, I must say I'm very disappointed.

Great idea, and definitely worth the price

This is very effective and does its job well. Maybe a tad expensive for what you get, but I think you're paying for the invention and that's well worth it when you consider the potential cost of a guitar falling onto concrete. The silver version would be nice, but I really don't think anyone notices or cares. Also, I recommend taking short-nosed scissors and "eyeball" enlarging the pin hole in the strap, which works very well with this gizmo.

Acoustic Strap Secure

I have been looking for something like this for a long time. The Fishman Switchjack Endpen was not very secure on my Gibson. It is perfect now. Thank you so much. Don

Just what I've been waiting for!

I've been thinking about removing the jack socket/tail-strap button and performing some woodwork on my Washburn electro-acoustic for some time, since the 'flange' which holds the strap on is pathetic and downright dangerous for the guitar's health! When I saw this device I knew it would save a huge amount of headaches and time for me and so it has proved. You need to make the bottom strap hole a little larger to take the button and I decided to only enlarge it enough to fit tightly, though it will revolve if needed. I have a Fender padded leather strap (one of if not the most comfortable on the market, though not cheap!) So a Schaller locking nut on the strap heel end and the button on the tail end - perfect! The threads fit snugly and reassuringly onto the guitar and this is NOT going to come off! In fact I am able to leave this end fitted to the guitar in the case, just slipping off the heel end for storage! The guitar is held SO securely! If you need to play another instrument and you sling your guitar around your back (I do when I play Ukulele!) this is an ideal device! I am delighted with the Acoustic Strap Secure and would 100% endorse it to anyone! Buy one NOW!

Finally!

The Strap Secure works great - finally I don't need to worry about dropping my Taylor. I also put a Strap Lock on the forward connection and now everything is secure. The only comment I have, is that the Strap Secure could be a bit smaller and less visible - it is big (and therefore Very secure!)

Long overdue!

Excellent product. I am a professional musician and, unplugged, my Taylor has dropped off the strap button more than a few times. Fortunately, I caught it each time. No more worries now! I am actually surprised that Fishman never dealt with this on their own.

What an improvement!

The extent to which this simple part makes your day (as it did mine) will probably depend on how crappy the stock part you're replacing was. No coincidence that the last happy review was also from a Breedlove owner: GREAT guitars, terrible stock endpin jack. The indent for the strap on Breedlove's part is barely smaller than the rest of it, so it's a challenge to get a strap on it, and it's very easy for the strap to come off, resulting in disaster. It's also hard to get any kind of torque on the part so that it's securely threaded onto the 1/4" input jack itself. This little piece of hardware solves all of that. You'll probably want to thread the strap right on and leave it for good, but once it's on it's secure. The increased diameter and knurled edges means you can get a tight fit without a wrench, and makes it easier to find the input jack in a hurry without scratching/denting the guitar. Like the last reviewer, I'd have preferred nickel, but the brass is handsome on this guitar. I might even consider upgrading my tuners for an all-brass look instead.

Brilliantly simple, effective solution

Perfect fit for my Breedlove guitar. Tremendous improvement in strap attachment security over my StrapKeeper. Hopefully, future stock will include the nickel finish, too.
