This part was the perfect solution I was looking for to prevent my strap from slipping off the jackin my martin. It was inexpensive, simple and looks great!

Works fine but

got in trouble with some 1/4 jacks and ended with loose , noisy connection and falling cord. You might need more thread to stick out of the guitar to have a proper fit and full connection.

Works Ok with thin straps

This works with thin straps, but it's tough to get a good fit with a thicker, leather strap. I got it to work with some cutting and fiddling, but it's not that easy to do and the strap is tight on the pin, which causes it to unscrew.

Works great

I have a little Martin Jr. Dreadnaught, that I need to sling behind my back time to time. And I also need to plug it in. When I added the pickup (a K&K twin disk setup), I almost put a second hole in the body so I could use one of the locking strap pins on the market. I didn't like that idea, and took a look at StewMac before I did anything rash.

Great solution - If SM doesn't have a solution, you probably didn't have a problem

I find this secure, but I would feel even more comfortable if it had been available with the 1 inch rim instead of the 0.75 inch.

I also would like a strap "adapter" that was made to fit around the larger pin of a cable-plug end-pin, with a second side made to button onto an unmodified strap. That would ice this cake good and proper!

Great Solution for a Big Problem

By
(Customer's Reviews)

Keeping the strap on the end-pin jack of an acoustic electric is a major issue. With as many A/E players as there are, you would think there would be a variety of solutions to choose from. The Acoustic Strap Secure is absolutely the best of the few available. The only drawback is that the size of the strap hole is too small to fit over the ASS. This requires you to punch the strap with a bigger hole which renders the strap unusable on normal end-pins.

Must have

I've always hated putting a strap on the standard jack for my acoustics due to an insecure fit. This cap is a night and day difference. Works perfectly to protect your guitar from falling of the strap.

1 incher for Baggs is too big, yet too narrow, for most straps!

By
(Customer's Reviews)

The concept is great, but since I have a Baggs lyric pre-installed in a Gibson acoustic, I had to use the metric model, which is the largest diameter. Unfortunately, the button hole in most straps is going to be too small. I envisioned that possibility, and thought I could simply cut the hole in the strap to be a bit larger. Well, strap leather is thick, and sometimes straps are two-ply! I ruined a brand new Gibson Montana strap trying to get the thing to work with the end pin Strap Secure device. I can't get the hole big enough, and the leather is too thick for the narrow recess in the thing. The only way I can use this $14 piece of threaded metal is to put it on BACKWARDS over a single ply strap!
I suggest STEWMAC find a source for a threaded end pin EXTENSION to which we could attach the Strap Secure device. Then, we could use any strap on the market. I'll say that if one can locate a good strap that has a string loop on the end of it, THAT strap should work, but it may not provide the security you want.

secure strap is an A+

We have installed this product on many guitars. The only thing we tend to do different is that. Since most of the customers want the 1" shoulder we have been drilling and re-taping so they will fit the switchcraft (american) jacks.
