Now the guitar case top does not come off. Back to hinging as needed. Do not know why I waited so long.

They are exactly what I need to repair a guitar case that was given to me. It needs a lot of work.

These hinges look great and work perfectly. I made a toolbox to match
my guitar case and it sets it of wonderfully.

Good replacement hinge

I had an old average quality Les Paul size hard shell case -- nothing fancy. One of the hinges broke. This worked fine as a replacement. It was very hard to put on, but that is not the fault of the hinge, but just the difficulty of getting behind it on the inside of the case under the lining and getting the tiny nuts on the little bolts I used. Once I got it firmly attached with the four nuts and bolts, though, I think it is going to stay fixed. I put heavy tape over the nut ends on the inside of the case to protect the guitar.

For Clam Shell Cases

These are not the right hinges for vintage wooden/ vinyl covers cases. These are for cases where top and bottom halves are butted together, typically electric and hard shell acoustic cases. My case has a top that overlaps the bottom- correct hinge has an offset, this is not the correct hinge, but better than nothing, and the correct hinge has proven impossible to find. Very strong, thick metal. Subtract 1 star for poor specs on this hinge. The picture shows the correct offset hinge pin type hinge for non-butted top and bottom type case,

Good hinges can save a case replacement!

I replaced the broken hinges on a old classical guitar case. I had to drill new holes and rivet the hinges into place. These hinges work better than the original ones that were installed when the case was made.

I have made a couple of hard cases for some odd sized solid bodied bass guitars and these hinges have worked perfectly.
I use three which help hold the case nice and square.

So far so good. I made a case for a guitar I made and these are holding up really well.
