Schaller Signum Bridge

About This Item

Better sound, playability and looks
This beautiful wrap-tail bridge is smoothly comfortable, with precise intonation and locking posts for great tone.

Locked for tone
Locking posts couple the bridge to the guitar body for rich dynamics, overtones and sustain. The height-adjustable posts fit flat or archtop solidbodies. A low-profile wrench is included for tightening.

Shaped for playability
The sculpted shape is smooth and comfortable under your picking hand. Strings load at the front and wrap over the back onto the notched saddles. String ball-ends are held in square recesses that keep them from turning and untwisting.

Two allen screws adjust the overall intonation, and each saddle fine-tunes individually, with 9mm of travel. Use an 11mm drill bit to install the bushings.

    Includes:
  • Height-adjustable locking posts
  • High quality knurled bushings
  • Slim, offset design locking wrench
  • Allen wrench for general intonation
  • Intonation screws in 2 different lengths
  • String spread 2-1/16"
    (52.50mm)
  • Saddle radius 12"
    (305mm)
  • Post spacing 3-1/4"
    (81.80mm)
  • Post threads 5/16-24

Die-cast zinc with machined brass saddles.

great part

Came with two lengths of post and inserts. Everything was as advertised. I like that the bridge has only registration grooves so that I can tool the string slots to my own satisfaction. If you dont own nut slotting files the saddle grooves may be a bit difficult to make work straight from the box.

Schaller Signum Bridge is a great accent for any guitar

This is an extremely solid piece. I am using it on a custom build, and it was easy to use. It is way cooler than using a standard hard tail bridge.

Nice bridge, but metric threaded studs

By

The specs say 5/16-24 SAE threads, but mine came with metric threads. Not a big deal since I was replacing the bushings in my guitar anyway, but beware if you're hoping to screw them into an old Gibson. I didn't see an option to select metric vs SAE threads on the order page.

Pricy but worth it

I bought these for a MelodyMaker I am refinishing and refurbishing. Thankfully, I spoke to a sales rep first, who pointed out that my original choice had metric threads, which would not have matched the existing guitar hardware!

Solid bridge, nice adjustability

I have 2 models I put these on. It functions well. The saddles are nice and tight. I wish the angle on the Tops of the saddle was a little greater, but still nice. The locking nuts under the bridge help keep it stable and aligned correctly.

Terrific improvement!

This bridge solved my issues with a 1971 SG Special. The original warp-around bridge didn't have any slots, so when bending the strings would slide around. The original bridge also didn't get quite low enough for great action due to the neck angle. And of course, the original was barely intonatable. I didn't want to modify the guitar at all, and this Signum seemed like a good choice.

It was. It fits on with no mods necessary. This Schaller is pretty low profile: I've got the action now very low and I still have plenty of room to raise or lower it. The strings don't slip and slide now; they stay right where they're supposed to be. And the intonation is spot on.

Getting it set up was a relative challenge, and required a bit of patience. All intonation setups do, but the locking studs added a new element to this job. Easy enough, if a bit more time consuming. But once I got it set there's nothing else to do! It's solid and dependable, comfy and it looks pretty sweet, too! (I took off the vibrato tailpiece; it just doesn't fit my style)

not to be picky BUT..

I loved the look of this Bridge the moment I saw it, so Ordered one from StewMac and duely set it into a new guitar body I had recently finished. Perfect...But...!

I would recomend that the bridge saddles be cut a bit deeper with the coresponding matching string files that Stew Mac sells. I found that the original gaps in the saddles were far too wide for my 10/11 gauge strings and the top thinnest four strings rattled and pinged as they were far to narrow for the machined saddel grooves. Once I used the corresponding fret files and set the strings a little deeper into the saddles...wow..what a difference...! All in all its a great bridge.. well worth the little extra work needed, to stop sideways string slap/whip/pinging. This trick works on all pre-grooved saddels. Thanks StewMac, I will be getting some more of these Bridges in the near future.

Bridge of Sighs

Perfect swap-fit for the original Gibson wrap around bridge on my 1984 Gibson Spirit (basically a Les Paul Jr. double cut away). Post threads are same as Gibson's so no need to remove/replace the inserts. Very solidly built and super easy to set intonation, etc.

Finally, exact intonation available !!

Proper intonation for my 2015 Les Paul Special. Finally plays the way it should after this bridge, locking tuners and the GraphTech replacement nut. The bridge would not fit properly using the studs supplied as the factory installed studs were very slightly too close together. I normally replace the OEM studs with the Tone-Pros locking studs and once I did that everything fell into place as intended. The studs were Gold so that helped the look as well. Intonates, tunes and stays in tune properly now. Plays much better than the one I had back about 1960 or so!!

Excellent Bridge

I bought this bridge for my Gibson Les Paul Jr, since I was not a fan of the "lightning bolt" wraparound that came on it.
This bridge made a HUGE improvement on what was already an awesome guitar.

Easy to install, with locking studs to stay in place this bridge went on inside of 10 minutes.
Once installed, the saddles were simple to adjust to fully intonate the guitar (the exact feature I was looking for!).

This is a heavy duty bridge, but it resonates nicely and has improved sustain as well.

I would recommend this bridge for any wraparound installation!
