Didnt fit

By

Verified Buyer

Bought this for a Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul. It did not fit. I also can not find conversion posts to match the color. Apparently, the bridge posts are supposed to screw directly into the wood of the body. The only tuneomatics i have seen screw into bushings or inserts on the guitar body.

As far as i can tell, this bridge only fits Gibson guitars that were actually made in the 50's. Lesson learned: nashville bridges and ABR bridges are two different things.

I found a 1980 Gibson Les Paul Firebrand. Solid walnut! This fit no problem.

Replaced import Nashville tunomatic

By

Verified Buyer

Replaced a import Nashville tuneomatic on a 80's Vantage S696
1. The saddle pieces are pre filed for strings. They are close enough to where they should be so I don't feel I need to replace saddles.
2. The pole pieces are much thinner than an import Nashville tuneomatic made holes. This was fixed by ordering conversion pole pieces from eBay. And they fit very well. Snug with no movement.
3. The saddle pieces did not move far enough to be able to intimate the E and A sting. I had to reverse the saddles to get the needed space. But this might be an ABR issue not specific to the Mightmite.
4. For the first week I noticed a ring coming from the bridge and the strings buzzed at the 20th fret. After about a week of sittting and playing it seems to have gone away and sounds normal.
5. The ABR style bridge to me seemed a bit harder to manage than a Nashville. And I don't see how the wire helps.

I personally have not noticed any sound difference from the Nashville vs ABR bridge. One day I may pay more for a Gotoh or Tonepros and stick with Nashville style. or maybe get a more pricy ABR to see the diference, but for now it seems to work just fine. Especially for the price.

Grateful to Stewmac for having a lot of details about parts before buying.
