Excellent low cost Strap Locks

By

Verified Buyer

These Lokstrap systems work very well. They do an excellent job of preventing the Strap from coming off the guitar.

1) You don't have to modify the guitar (Remove screws and install different hardware - your guitar remains ORIGINAL.

2) The Lokstraps are next to the Strap - they can't reach the guitar and scratch it.

3) The plastic doesn't easily spin, which means regular use of guitar will not cause locks to detach from guitar.

4) On a couple of guitars I own, the Opening of this lokstrap were not large enough to fit, but I was able to make the Plastic hole bigger with a Drill and Sanding Bit. Once the lokstrap is on the guitar, it is next to impossible to get off.

But that's exactly the point, isn't it?

For a low cost solution, I can't think of a better product.

Great Alternative to Strap-Locks

By

Verified Buyer

The LokStrap System is a great alternative to Strap-Locks and does not require changing out and possibly drilling out for a new strap button. While this system isn't foolproof (it's plastic), it does provide a reasonable amount of security in keeping the strap securely fastened to the guitar. Great design for a very reasonable price-point.

Perfect for that favorite strap that is getting loose

By

I have an old Gibson Blue Ridge from my teen days. The strap is just as old. It feels good and looks like it belongs on the guitar. However, the peg holes have a tendency to be weak. These are perfect to hold that strap on and give it another 40 years of use.
Good:
Large enough for the old or new strap.
Stiff to open and close so they won't fall off.
Thin so they won't pop over the end of the peg.
No changing out the original peg to accommodate.
Bad:
Not for the quick change artist.
Once these and the strap are on, don't take them off. Fine for me, each instrument has it's own strap.
Make sure the strap can stay on the guitar in the case.

Lokstrap System do not freely spin

I have a very similar set of strap locks that look identical however these ones have too much friction and do not spin making it difficult to put on and take off

Best bang for the buck

I've been using these. for almost 10 years. I buy a set of Grover Strap Locks and only install the rear one. For the other I use a Lokstrap. I put the other on the rear of another guitar and the other part on another strap. Works great.

Very Effective.

The Lokstraps are quite usable and effective. Easy to use although I had to add a drop of oil to rotate it properly.

Works on bass

By

Verified Buyer

I've only used 'em at a rehearsal so far & seems to work OK (I play bass - does it matter what brands? Yamaha RBX & an ESP/LTD 8 string). The only thing I can comment on is that 1 was quite a bit loose, whilst the other was tighter. As with my original review - sure beats the messy gaff tape overkill I've seen other high profile bands use (can't they afford serious strap locking devices - or do they have Shares in the company/gaff fetishes?).

Good

First of all don't expect much, its just a couple of plastic pieces. And if you're fine with drilling into your guitar, than maybe you should go with the traditional strap locks. This one works like those beer caps some people use. But if your main goal (like mine was) is to secure your guitar without making modifications in it, it will be a good solution. And its inexpensive so it worth a try. I use it with my beloved American Standard Strat, with the provided strap, and it fits perfectly. I never had any problems, but It's a good idea to check if its well locked before going on stage.

Never without

By

I have been using the Lokstraps on a heavy Custom LP model and light Melody Makers ans stat-style guitars. This safety system is inexpensive, reliable and seems to be durable. No drillings or modifications required. I wouldn't use it with a too slim guitar strap on a nitro finished guitar for the plastic dishes are quite wide and they might leave traces of use all around them. Apart from that, I would never again hit the stage without the lokstraps on my guitars! Toto
