Golden Age Roller Bridge

About This Item

The only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville Tune-O-Matic. Low-friction brass roller saddles let the strings move freely and return to accurate pitch.

We designed this bridge to work with Bigsby vibratos, in place of the Nashville Tune-o-matic. This is the only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville, so you maintain the string action you're used to. We gave it a low profile to keep the strings clear of the bridge body too, eliminating a frequent source of vibrato problems.

Thumbwheel height-adjustment studs and knurled bushings are included.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Great Bridge at a Great Price!

This bridge was a replacement for a Epiphone Custom Les Paul.
The old bridge had seen better days and this was the perfect replacement!
The 12" radius was a perfect fit and helps dramatically with tuning issues.
I highly recommend this bridge!

My bad. I only checked the radius and it was fine, the post are too thin!!

Very high quality stuff, though.

obs. I have a 2008 G400

Fantastic upgrade to my Gibson Les Paul Studio

After doing a fair amount of research on these types of bridges, I decided to pull the trigger and buy one. When it arrived, I was impressed with the quality, and I noted that it came with all of the components to install it.

I have a white Gibson Les Paul Studio, and have been displeased with the tune-o-matic bridge that comes stock on it. I'm sure someone has a smooth-sounding argument for why the tune-o-matic bridges are awesome, but in my opinion, the proverbial emperor is naked. Maybe if I was more elite and intelligent I wouldn't feel that way ;)

After installing my new roller bridge, I barely had to adjust the intonation at all. It was nearly perfect right out of the gate. I also tossed on some new strings, as I thought they would give me a better idea of how well things can stay in tune. With just a few minor adjustments to the height of the bridge, things were awesome. I no longer had the typical issue where the strings are striking the back of the bridge before they hit the saddles. The string action was also immediately improved, and tuning seems much smoother.

If you're on the fence about buying one of these, I would highly recommend getting one. It's one of the best improvements you can make, and it requires zero modifications (assuming you're using it on one of the intended guitar models).

Thanks for the quick service, great price and best of all.....just the fact that you even had this item in stock! My local guitar man said "Good luck finding a replacement for your 56' Gold Top".
He will probably become one of your dealers, he was more impressed than I! Thanks again...

Awesome Upgrade!

I was having issues with my 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio with strings breaking and staying in tune. After looking around I found the Golden Age Roller Bridge at Stew-Mac. It's an easy installation anyone can do. The thumb wheel adjuster for the new bridge (included) screwed right into the stock Gibson ferrals so no need to even use the ones provided. After tuning up and adjusting intonation, which is a breeze with the new bridge, my LP feels better and hard to fathom, sounds better. After a 2 hour gig on a hot day no string breakage and tuning was easier and more stable. I highly recommend this product for anyone using a tune-o-matic bridge! My band-mates even noticed my guitar sounded better....Nice one Stew-Mac!

IMHO the best Roller Bridge

I put a B-7 on my ES-135 and bypassed the tension bar. It would not return to pitch. Then installed a Zero Fret. It helped but not enough. Considered Locking tuners but after reading about the Golden age Roller Bridge I tried it. Guess what the Bigsby returns to pitch. Don't get me wrong you can't do dive bombs and expect to return in tune but that not what a Bigsby is for. All i'm saying is it works for me.
