TonePros Locking Studs

About This Item

Improved stability and sustain!
Retrofit your wraparound bridge or stop tailpiece for better tone and sustain!

The top of each stud tightens down for solid contact. Your bridge or tailpiece will no longer lean, resulting in more stability and improved string energy transfer. Threaded bushings and wrench are included with each set.

Use an 11mm drill bit to install the bushings.

"Real innovations. TonePros studs remove the play inherent in bridges and tailpieces that rest on threaded studs. This ensures especially good coupling."—Dan Erlewine

Solid coupling for better sustain
Improved bridge/tailpiece stability
More precise, lasting intonation
Won't fall off during restringing!

TonePros® hardware is now used by many enthusiastic makers and artists including:

Pricey but makes a difference

These are great and all the talk about helping sustain with a locked down tailpiece are correct. I notice a difference and having a locked down tailpiece when changing strings is a bonus!

These really tighten up a stopbar or wraparound. The wrench is a hassle, but still, better tightness, better tone

Worth the effort

These may seem a bit expensive at first blush, but having them in hand is another thing entirely. Very nicely designed, and effective especially in concert with a lightweight tailpiece. I will add my voice to the choir to not over-tighten, and follow the well-written instructions. A worth-while upgrade on my LP Junior.

This one is a great upgrade for any project, but seems a little fragile. Just be careful when installing and adjusting!

Great Upgrade

Subjectively, these seem to have improved tone and sustain a bit on my LP Standard. But, unquestionably, they are worth the money if only to keep the tailpiece from falling off and dinging something (or itself!) when changing strings. I'm seriously considering the companion locking bridge for the same reason.

is a fantastic idea, but all the stuff should be made of steel, not brass!

On gagne en sustain (surtout avec un bridge" en aluminium) et le montage inversT faton Joe Bonamassa! TrFs pratique lorsque on change les cordes. Une super idTe!

Nice, but fragile

I liked these when I first received them. However, in the process of adjusting the bridge height, I broke the head of one these off. It is really a rather small thread size and soft material. The head twisted off as I was tightening it. These are really over-priced for the quality. I decided to order the standard studs to replace these. Although they are not "locking" they are a lot stronger and serve their purpose just fine.

I've put these on every guitar I own (7), and they really do make a big difference in tone. You get the biggest difference when you use the locking bridge too! These are GREAT!!!

These really work!

They fit most stud inserts but aren't hard to swap. Improved sustain! They look stock so no one would guess.
