About This Item

A set that retains the vintage look and tone, but helps improve traditional 3-saddle Tele guitar bridge intonation.

These are excellent

I've always made my own compensated saddles by bending the intonation adjustment screw. It's an old technique that goes back decades - maybe all the way back to the tele's/broadcaster's beginning, I don't know. But that method has several drawbacks. These compensated saddles - achieved by angling the screw hole rather than the screw itself - is a MUCH better way to do it, lol! And I'm impressed with the quality of the saddles, especially for the price. I was concerned they might be some kind of brass-like alloy that's lighter and less substantial. But not so. These saddles are excellent, and the degree of angle is just what my Fender CS '60s tele custom needed. This particular guitar required more correction of the low E and A strings - and to a lesser extent the high E and B - than the more infamous G and D relationship. I still have a bit of final tweaking to do, but the improvement to my intonation was immediate and obvious. I can't say they are the BEST, because I haven't used others. But when you consider the quality, the ease of setup, the price, and the resulting improvement, It definitely deserves all 5 stars!

Excellent Saddles

These brass saddles installed quite easily on my Partscaster, and only one had to be rotated 180 degrees to achieve proper intonation.

Inexpensive, and they work

I have a Vintage V52 Icon that suffered from “sitar”-like buzzing on the B and E strings. It looked like the source of this buzz was the stock bridge saddles, which were of the modern “compensated” style. I tried reshaping them, but didn’t have a lot of luck. These saddles solved the problem.

Near perfect intonation

Unbelievable. I replaced an original set of saddles on my 1966 Tele with these beauties. I took a picture of the originals before I removed them to be able to put the newbies in the same place. To my amazement when I tuned up the new strings and saddles, I had perfect intonation except for I think the A or G being a very, very slight sharp. If you love Tele's, these will change your life!

Finaly got around to replacing my old saddles with these StewMac Compensated saddles. Good quality, easy to install and when finished they helped put my Telecaster in to much better tune. Good stuff!

I have used these on approx. 8 Tele's. They do the job and add more confidence to the tuning. But, the hole angle is greater or lesser on some of these saddles, though it's close enough. Probably a drill jig for accurate repeatability of the hole angle is the answer.

So glad that StewMac had what I needed for my Telecaster copy and could send it so quickly. These fit up easily and are much better than the hardware that came with the original bridge (sharp and not easily adjusted). Thanks StewMac!
