The choice of renowned guitarmakers for their finest instruments.
"They hold their tune and look superb…of course I recommend Waverly."—Dick Boak, Martin Guitars

With Waverly tuners, your guitar plays in tune and stays in tune. Their acclaimed design, precise 16:1 gear ratio, long-life stainless steel/bronze construction, and smooth, reliable operation have made them the favorite of renowned guitarmakers and musicians for their finest instruments.

Waverly tuners offer modern precision with vintage style. Try our relic nickel finish, an antique look for vintage and reproduction guitars.

Martin, Gibson, Collings, Santa Cruz, Huss & Dalton, Sams, Bourgeois and other guitarmakers specify Waverly tuners for their top-line instruments.

Why do the pros choose Waverly tuners?

Smoother, more efficient tuning.
Waverly's renowned gear mechanism is second to none. Waverly tuners feature a proven, precisely machined design ensuring accurate, efficient gear alignment. Nylon worm gear bushings enhance the smooth feel. The result: looseness is eliminated—your guitar plays in tune and stays in tune.

Longer life with less wear.
Waverly's stainless steel worm gear and machined bronze alloy string post gear are more durable than the brass gears used in other tuners.

Vintage details.
The look is right at home on vintage-style instruments. Authentic "Butterbean" knobs (a description coined by the late Martin historian Mike Longworth) are solid brass, not die-cast, with the historically-correct shape not found on other modern tuners.

The sturdy steel baseplates have the authentic 1930s footprint. String posts are vintage-style tapered 1/4"-diameter brass, with press -fit knurled brass hex bushings to fit 11/32"-diameter pegholes. Slot-head mounting screws complete the vintage look; there are no additional holes to drill on many older Martins and Gibsons.

The cure for sweet old guitars with cranky old tuners!
Waverly Relics make your vintage or reproduction instrument look and tune as good as it sounds. The special relic nickel finish has that authentic "played for 80 years" patina that makes shiny new tuners look out of place on a fine old guitar. Set of 3-left/3-right, with bushings and screws.

Conversion peghead bushings are also available for retrofitting Waverly tuners into larger Gotoh, Grover or Schaller pegholes, without doweling and redrilling. A Stewart-MacDonald exclusive!

Worth every penny!

By Alex Grier from Spearsville, LA
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, January 23, 2012

I installed these on my 2008 Martin D35. I removed the grovers, reamed the holes on the head stock just a tiny bit and the bushings that came with them fit great. I had oreded the oversize bushings just in case, but I did not need them. The screw hole for the grovers matched perfectly with the bottom hole on the waverlys. I drilled holes for the top screws in each tuner. It was very easy to do. And while I had it apart, I polished out the headstock, front and back, and the neck. I also installed a tortoloid pickguard. Now I have a much different looking guitar. Shipping was super fast.

Waverly Butterbeans

By Doc Wilson from United Kingdom
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, July 13, 2011

I have a well road worn 1980 Martin D35 and the tuners were getting a little tired and so, after some research on the internet I decided to go for the Waverly Nickel tuners with Butterbean knobs.I can honestly say that they are without doubt the best tuners in the world. They do exactly what the company says and look absolutely fantastic. I had to fill a few holes from the original tuners but I believe if you have the newer Martins the bottom holes line up anyway. The result can be seen in the picture I have added. I would recommend this product to anyone and also to get them in 48hrs to the UK is outstanding.

Very good

I bought those tuners to put on a Les Paul guitar I made from parts and they look stunning. I am sure those tuners will last for a long time because they seem to be pretty solid. I still need to work a little bit more on my nut to keep better tuning but once it's gonna be done I feel confident that these tuners will hold tune pretty good. Shipping was fast as always.

really needed

I was having problems with my guitar staying in tune. Every time I would tune it seemed like my old tuners would slip. I have read a lot of reviews on Waverly Tuners and thought I would try them. They really do what they say about them. Their price is higher, but if you like to keep your guitar in tune you need to try these.

Waverly Retrofit

I wanted to give my Martin a lift, and replacing the old machines seemed a good idea. I found the Waverly's are exactly what they are cracked up to be - smooth and accurate, and hold very well. Certainly the best machines I have ever owned - highly recommended!

Finest Quality, Perfect Function

By Warren Anderson from San Antonio, TX
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, October 18, 2010

My new Collings had been specked by the dealer with small-button Waverly's which I just didn't care for. So I got some nickel vintage ones to swap 'em. Amazing packaging like jewelry - they deserve an un-boxing video. Detailed clear instructions, exploded drawings and dimensions were provided in the box and on Stew Mac's website. Because I was replacing existing Waverly's, no new holes or bushing changes were required. Word of caution: even though the vintage bushings have a hex- border, unlike Gotohs there is no nut--it is decorative only. So don't try to unscrew it to get the tuner out Takes longer to write about than do: Unstring, remove two wood screws that secure the tuner plate to back of headstock, out with the old, in with the new, done. As for how they work; I tune with iPhone Peterson strobe app which shows fractions of a cent and Waverly's nail it every time--smooth and precise. Look right and work right.
