Gotoh Vintage KLuson Style Tuners

By Russ Meeker from Atlanta, GA  USA
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, May 29, 2014

I bought these tuners to replace some original Kluson-style tuners on an 80's vintage Burny Les Paul. They were pretty much an exact replacement as far as the bushing size. Just needed a little effort to press them in but they fit nice and snug. And the screw holes matched up pretty well. They also look just like the old ones. And they are far superior to the old ones regarding the gear ratio and tightness. The guitar now has excellent tuning stability. These were perfect for me. I have the same exact look as before but with a superior tuner. Great product.

Nice Tuners!

I have used these before and liked them on an old Electra LP copy I had. I bought them this time to go on a Recording King Dirty Thirty. Look great, tune well, and hold tune nicely. Installation easy, but the bushing holes in the RC were slightly larger than the bushings supplied. Couldn't use the existing bushings because the Gotoh shafts were too big. Anyway, the tension of the string kept the bushing in place and I have had no issues at all. Played first live gig with them recently and they held tune very well. As always, hassle-free, expert service and shipping from StewMac.

I put these tuners on my Epiphone Les Paul, but the holes were to big. Bought the bushings and they popped right in! They look wonderful. Thanks StewMac

Theses are exact replicas of the original tuners found on an old ES-135. The only minor issue when installing them was the size of the bushings which were a wee bit larger than the originals. A little reaming of the holes in the headstock was required to push the bushings in. Apart from that, these are perfect! No need to spend more. Thanks.

Epiphone SG upgrade

By KennyM from Midlothian, VA
(Customer's Reviews) Tuesday, September 10, 2013

I bought a 2001 Epi SG G40n. It was a good guitar but it became obvious that the stock tuners were cheap - very loose and went out of tune a lot. So I did some research and decided on these for price and brand. I have used Gotoh on other guitars and have been very pleased, and the price was good. Stewmac can improve on shipping costs, but factor that in and it was still a good deal and they are good when you call with questions, the people that answer the phone are knowledgeable. I installed them with little fanfare and the guitar now stays in tune great!

I've lost count on how many sets of replacement tuners I've bought, but I know I can rely on Stewart-Macdonald for the right ones every time!

If I could give a 3 1/2 I would. They're nice but sometimes don't operate very smoothly.
