May not work with some jack sockets!

Ordered one of these to replace the oval jack plate on a G&L ASAT Tele. Fits the bore hole perfectly, but the internal treading was to wide for the stock Korean/Japanese jack socket. Make sure you have a Switchcraft or Switchcraft-style jack socket, otherwise you'll be looking at more parts and soldering work.

Ok, but.............

it's not the panacea it's made out to be. I know a lot of guys love this product, but if your guitar doesn't have a flat spot (such as on a new build) the E-socket is not contoured to match the curve in the guitar. It's an odd size of diameter so you need an uncommon drill bit if yours is a scratch build. And last, a jack plate offers much more protection from the pointed end of your guitar cord. It's a solid innovation, but not a panacea.

Peace of Mind

Bought a new Tele. The stock jack wouldn't accept my right-angle cord. Installation of Electrosocket (with a new Switchcraft jack, of course) was a breeze. Works well with the right angle cord, also eliminates any future issues with the stock Tele jack.

When it comes to tele-style input jacks, there is no better solution. Easy, practical, secure...what more could one ask for?

I polished my silver one to a nice shiny finish.

Nice fit, poor finish

By

I was replacing a similar socket which only accepted a metric threaded jack. The electrosocket is a very good fit and accepts the switchcraft jack perfectly. However, the finish will not match typical gold-plated hardware. At this price I think tool-marks could be removed and the metal properly polished and plated. Disappointing.

Great product

Installed this jack into my Tele and it works great because it solved an inherent design flaw with the factory installed jack. Now my guitar cable fits perfectly without any side-to-side movement within jack assembly.

Problem Solved

By
(Customer's Reviews)

Like others who have used this product and were satisfied so was I. Screws would always come loose with the other jack mounts, but this one does not. If you are concerned about this problem happening to you and possibly causing some damage to your guitar then I suggest you use this type of jack mount. Once again I now have peace of mind.
