Schaller's unique variation of the Tune-o-matic bridge features low-friction roller saddles for smoother tuning and tremolo action.

These intonation-adjustable brass saddles allow adjustable string spread, and are angled slightly for correct alignment with the offset mounting studs and threaded bushings. The bridge can be used with standard Gibson® guitar tailpieces.

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Small modification needed to fit my new ES-LES PAUL but still an awesome product!

Replace your stock "UNTune-a-matic" bridge ASAP! Gibson needs to really rethink that god awful bridge. I bought a brand new Gibson ES-LES Paul and almost returned it. I couldn't keep it in tune, it "pinged" and "creeked" every time I turned the tuners.

My ES-LES PAUL has threaded posts and I wasn't go to pull them to install the included bushings. Just like another reviewer mentioned, I drilled a hole through the light aluminum bridge so the threaded posts can pass through (see pic). I did not modify the guitar in any way. I can put the crappy tune-a-matic back on at any time.

Works on Gretsch, but

This is a terrific alternative to almost any stock Gretsch bridge, but you must be handy enough to adjust the wooden base in order to accommodate the necessary height off the body requirements of these archtops. We actually drill out the bases to accept the stud bushings, then file down the base to correct height, and cut down the stud post so it won't bottom out on the top. Granted this is careful work, and one probably best left to qualified shops, but, the end results definitely justifies the hassle. Rock solid tuning, much better intonation, greatly increased sustain. WE EVEN GO ONE STEP FURTHER AND "PIN" the bridge to the top once we meticulously intonate. Accommodates almost any player and string gauges with ease! If you're the Brian Setzer type aggressive player, this bridge will hack the abuse and come up smelling like a rose! Just be aware that it does not just drop into a Gretsch format.

Works great. String spacing adjustable on roller bridge. Vibramate and Bigsby B5 easy to install. Guitar still fits in the case. Looks nice and sounds cool.

Improper specs not enough info

Watch the height! This was purchased for a 6120 and 1) studs won't fit the standard bridge base and 2) The bridge is limited in how low it will drop. It will not work with a Gretsch 6120 UNLESS you want to exclusively play slide guitar.

What an awesome improvement!

Buy this bridge! After replacing my tune-o-matic with the original Gibson part, I was still breaking strings at the bridge. Instead of taking it to the shop I liked the design of this bridge and the reviews were good so I decided to try it. It has improved both the resonance and feel way beyond what I expected. My Les Paul Custom is better than ever! Thanks Schaller and StewMac!

Not just for trems anymore

I have been using roller bridges on all my Bigsby equipped guitars for years. I have taken to using them on ALL my guitars that use a Tune-O-Matic bridge. I can adjust the spacing and intonate much easier with rollers !

Best  Upgrade for Gibson guitars.

My 2003 Les Paul resonates like never before with this Schaller bridge installed. I never realized the stock Nashville tune-o-matic was leeching the tone out of my guitar. Gibson would be smart to contract with Schaller to include this bridge on every factory guitar. It was such a great tonal improvement, I bought one for my SG too.

Originally, I selected this bridge when I first started making guitars in case I flubbed on string alignment. Now I like the idea of custom spacing since not all player's fingers are created equal.
