 /><font color=About bridge & tailpiece measurements

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Took my Epiphone to a new level

By Andy Royal from Manchester, NH
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I ordered this for my Epiphone Les Paul Classic-T. Tunes to pitch faster than before. Intonation is amazing. Something I didn't anticipate is that the sustain is now longer. The only other adjustment I had to do was raise the tailpiece, as the strings now touched it. Used the pins that came with it and my existing mounting. Seems a little loose so I will be replacing those with the ones that came with this bridge. This is a must have if you have one of those crappy bridges that has the wire retaining the intonation adjustment screws.

Perfect replacement for Epiphone G400 Bridge

This bridge was an exact drop-in replacement for the OEM bridge that came on a G400 that I was doing some upgrades to. The OEM bridges have a problem with intonation and even string height closer to the body. This Gotoh replacement was the perfect solution, I was able to set the individual string bridges to approximate what I had on the original, drop it in re-tune and the intonation was perfect. Plus now the guitar setup for slide plays perfectly because the srings are even (don't have to have individual bridge sets turned 180 deg). Thank you StewMac.

Perfect fit

The Gotoh Tune-o-matic Bridge was a direct replacement for the original cast part in my Chinese LP copy. Now there is enough adjustment to intonate all the strings. However, the D string is at the travel limit.

Very happy

This was a drop-in (screw-in, actually) replacement for the stock Tune-o-matic bridge on my 1980 Epiphone Genesis. These bushings are smaller, so I left the originals in place. Note that for this guitar the string spacing of the original is closer together than this bridge. Rather than filing new string notches I'm just using this bridge "as is". As a result my low E-string is not directly over the corresponding pole on the stock humbucker. It doesn't seem to matter at all. And yes, there is still some play between the bridge and the posts. So why am I giving it 5 stars? Because despite all of the above, I have finally been able to adjust the intonation correctly, the guitar finally holds its tuning for days on end and overall it sounds better than it did before this cheap modification. That's really all that matters, after all.

Moving on posts

I was expecting that this would be higher quality giving all the fuzz around it. But I was surprised that there isnt a full contact between bridge and its posts. Maybe its not that big of a deal as it sounds OK.

best choice for a tune-o-matic bridge upgrade.

I use this bridge on all of my tune-o-matic equipped guitars. Just ordered a gold one to replace the junk abr-1 on my Les Paul Custom. Tonally superior to the stock pot metal junk and they have plenty of saddle travel for perfect intonation.

High Quality and Simple

Drop-in replacement for Epiphone Les Paul Studio. No rattling, no buzzing, noticeable improvement in intonation and sustain. Many mention the smaller string grooves; I play skinny top/heavy bottom (.10 - .52) and have no issues whatsoever with string slippage. One of the best low-cost upgrades I have ever made to a guitar.

way better

I had bought this to replace my Epiphone stock one because it rattled way too much. Put this bad boy in and had no problems then, the only the only thing people may not like is the small slots for the strings but I use 12 gauge strings and they don't slip off.

Great Bridge

I initially got one as a replacement part for a "gimme" Epiphone LP-100 someone had gave me and it was an easy install a after I had it set up and it held tune well, It convinced me to replace the one on my Epiphone Firebird. I had issues with intonation on my Firebird, So it was on easy swap and I had it set up and my 'Bird sound as sweet as can be.
