This adjustable bridge/tailpiece adds intonation adjustment to the Les Paul® Junior and similar guitars, and it's a great alternative for custom instruments, too.

The strings install at the front, two allen screws adjust the overall bridge angle, and the unnotched metal saddles have individual intonation screws. Mounting posts are not included (TonePros locking posts are required for optimum setup).

 /><font color=About bridge & tailpiece measurements

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Tip: Slotting Tune-o-matic style saddles
Nut slotting files work great for metal saddles. Choose your file size as you would when slotting a nut: use the same gauge as the string, or a few thousandths larger. After filing to the desired depth, we suggest polishing the slot with Mitchell's Abrasive Cord to remove file marks and burrs.

Third pigtail bridge

By Pat Green from UK
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, January 01, 2014

This is the third pigtail bridge so far so I must like them. So far 2 are on roughly LP ish guitars I made and the 3rd is on a 2 cutaway semi hollow that normally I would have put a vibrato on. My initial comments about the tone pros studs suggested by SM still stand and I'm perfectly happy with standard studs and bushings I get in the UK which are easier to adjust and still sound as good as the tone pros studs. The 2 cutaway guitar sounds great with this bridge and Lace red at neck and a SD lil '59 at the bridge. The bridge is installed with no offset on the bass side.

55' Gibson Bridge Upgrade

Gibson with studs not centered, so strings were not centered. Needed a wraparound without pre-notched inserts. This bridge worked perfect. Used Tone-Pros studs, and the action improved greatly.

Good product

I purchased this bridge as an upgrade of the Schaller wraparound on my Bresett guitar. The tonal improvement was definitely noticeable with slighty enhanced mids and a more open tone. It also has more saddle adjustment than most wraparound bridges. I will include this bridge on future builds.

Unexpectedly Awesome

I had to recently switch out with the Schaller Bridge/Tailpiece, which to my surprise was poorly engineered - if you have to have the bridge set low on the Schaller, it FORCES you to dig the strings into your finish (Uhhhh, WOW!) so I "Settled" for this bridge, which I was a little hesitant about, mainly because I am not overly excited about products that put a "swine" reference in it.. all joking aside - this bridge was pretty awesome and the tone on my second build is beyond anyone's expectations - this is called "The Silver Willow" guitar - search for it on the net for some amazing photos and videos. Thanks Stewie!

One of the best bridges I have ever used

Order this one, you're not gonna regret it. It replaced my PRS wraparound bridge, and improve its tone and intonation a lot!

Excellent bridge

I wanted to upgrade the "lightning bolt" bridges on my old SGs, so I could adjust the intonation easily. The Pigtail does the job beautifully. The stud spacing was perfect, unlike some others I tried, and it's nicely made of made of lightweight aluminum.

The nickel plating finish that I purchased is not good quality, but it's Aluminum, no problem.
Amazingly light weight, must be good intonation and tone.
If you have problem with the original bridge, this is the best choice.

pigtail bridge

By Pat Green from UK
(Customer's Reviews) Tuesday, October 04, 2011

I used this bridge with a LP ish guitar built from scratch. I chose the bridge as I didn't want any pitch on the neck and I didn't want the fingerboard elevated a huge amount above the guitar top. The bridge is well made and has a low profile and is fixed to the guitar using the tonepros studs. The whole thing works very well but points to look out for are
The saddles need notching for the strings, the method is in SM newsletter and the studs have a silly spanner that is flat so that when you want to adjust the bridge height it fouls the guitar top. Cranking the spanner would make fixing and adjusting the bridge easy. Still overall a very good product and in fact I have bought 2 of them! The bridge is slanted by 6 mm on the bass side and combined with an earvana compensated nut and has the best intonation of any of my guitars.

Best Wraparound out there

(Customer's Reviews) Monday, March 14, 2011

Having tried Tonepros, Mannmade, Schaller etc., I tried this Pigtail and found what I was looking for all this time! It's low, light with stinging sustain and very well made. I agree with other reviewers that the continuous string holes make a BIG difference to my Les Paul DC when restringing, A class product.

pigtail bridge

I have used other wraparound bridges and have always had the same problem stringing the guitar up. The string hole is in two parts, the tone pros is a very good bridge but suffers from this problem. The Pigtail has a continuous hole from one side to the other and is very easy to string up.

Tonewise it is superior to any other wraparound bridge I have used.
