Dowel Stick Hardware

About This Item

For old-time "dowel-stick" neck-to-rim attachment.

Three-piece neck brace tightens the neck to the rim, and fits dowel sticks up to 13/16" (20.64mm) square. Ferrule fits over the end of the dowel stick. Endbolt fastens the dowel stick to the rim, and holds the tailpiece. All hardware is nickel-plated.

Nice parts, secure neck brace for banjo

I've a few banjo projects in the works and one required making a new dowel stick for a banjo neck. I turned the dowel end on a maple 1 x 1 and glued it into the neck drilled dowel hole. Your hardware finished the job and made a nice tight neck on my banjolin. I could have used some instructions on the neck brace, but I managed. Thanks... Dave

Sticking to Tradition

I recently built my first banjo using a dowel stick instead of coordinator rods. The hardware is extremely important to make all the parts fit properly. The only problem I had was that I wrung off the screw of the endbolt during installation and had the rim stick permanently attached with no way to adjust string height. Fortunately, I was able to use a T-bracket to fasten the tailpiece since the banjo has a resonator.
