Prucha Mastertone Style Banjo Flange

About This Item

A Mastertone replica that's fanatically precise! An exact match of the Gibson original, with accuracy down to one ten-thousandth of an inch.

Banjo aficionado Jaroslav Prucha is obsessed with pre-war banjos, like those made by Gibson in the 1920s and '30s. Studying an original flange, Prucha found marks that reveal secrets of how it was machined and plated. Now he's creating perfect copies of that 80-year old flange from the Kalamazoo factory.

Cast of traditional zinc alloy. Nickel plated.

Outside diameter: 13-3/16" (335mm)
Inside diameter: 10-11/16" (297mm)
Height: 1/2" (12.7mm)
Neck notch taper: from 1-7/8" to 1-5/16" (47.63mm x 33.34mm)

Standard 24-bracket hook spacing.

This flange fits our resonators. Does not fit a straight-sided banjo rim, and is not interchangeable with a Gibson "tube and plate" flange.
