Worked out well. Old pickguard was pulling up and had a sharp point. Replacement material of imitation torrid shell looks great.

Just what I wanted!

My Eastman E20OOSS is based on a 1930's Gibson L-OO. It came with a pickguard in the case, but I wanted a 1930's Gibson style pickguard for it. That means a "firestripe" pickguard, so I bought a sheet of the red "firestripe" material. I found a photo of the pickguard on the web, scaled it and printed it for a pattern. I traced the pattern on the material and cut it out with scissors. I used sandpaper and an X-Acto knife as a scraper to smooth the edges. Making the guard was easy, and, once installed it looks perfect on the sunburst finish. Thanks, Stew-Mac.

I used this material on a custom pickguard for a very old Yamaha acoustic and it did the job, covering more than 40 years of somebody's botched attempts. You can get 2-3 pickguards out of one sheet too. I have a feeling I'll be using some of the other colors in the near future.

Pickguard material

The purpose for which this product was purchased, was to replace a missing neck heel cap. While the product is what the information says it is, I would have been happier had the material been thicker and stiffer. Free-handing a cut was difficult to get a smooth clean line, perhaps I just chose the wrong type of material.
