Very Good Martin Replacement

By

Verified Buyer

Not every Martin bridge is cut using the precision that this bridge is created with! These are actually more consistent. Quality all the way around, is equal to or better than the Nazareth factory.
Also there's been some question about the saddle slot with exactly the same average depth as most Martin "modern" guitars. It measures 11/128 wide on average BTW. That's pretty much right where we want it as Luthiers. I can easily enlarge to 3/32 with a slot file, or chase it with the Saddle Slotting jig with a 3/32 cutter. Or thirdly we can reduce the saddle thickness by 1/128 inch to fit.
All and all you cannot buy a better bridge premade from ANY source on the net. If you have trouble with this bridge, then you haven't perfected your Luthiery skills enough to be attempting this replacement/repair.

Last Resort That Worked

By

I bought this as a last resort to replace a broken bridge on a Gretsch acoustic guitar. The Gretsch used a bridge that would not support the saddle which cause intonation issues and finally a cracked bridge. I hand made one close to the Gretsch specs but it was not tall enough to support the saddle even after I added more height to it. I purchased this bridge even though it was not the same shape. I was able to reshape and widen the saddle slot to fit the Gretsch, I had to add additions to make the bridge longer.

Great match for a 1970 Gibson Blueridge restoration/repair project that I have in my shop. Stemac is my go to source for my parts and equipment.

Thanks

Did not fit. Holes do not line up. Said I could return, but you pay freight-both ways.

The quality is SO MUCH BETTER than bridges I have received from other vendors. Won't buy this from anywhere else.

Bought this as a replacement for an older Alvarez dreadnaught and it was a perfect fit.

Saddle Slot is narrow

By

Verified Buyer

Saddle Slot is 1/16" - not the 3/32" of the specification (see photo). I didn't notice this until after I glued the bridge in place. I only needed to thin out the saddle, however this will cause a problem if my customer decides to add an under-saddle pickup. If I had caught this before gluing it down, I would've widen the saddle slot using a jig for building my own bridges.
