Details

The easy way to melt hide glue in water at the proper thermostatically-controlled temperature. The 1-quart size minimizes wasted glue.

This pot includes a removable aluminum container and a mixing/wiping device.

Also used for pickup potting — a perfect wax-melting pot.

The pot maintains hide glue at 150-155 degrees F when 2/3 to 3/4 full (approx. 10 degrees higher when using a lid). Behlen Ground Hide Glue is the traditional luthier's glue that creates stronger wood joints than bottled liquid hide glues.

For potting pickups, the ideal mixture is 80 percent paraffin and 20 percent beeswax. See our article Lindy Fralin on wax potting pickups.

Specifications:
#0668 glue pot is for domestic use. This 120-volt (144 watt) AC electrical appliance has a U.S. standard Type B plug with two flat parallel prongs and a grounding pin.

#0668-FE glue pot is for international use. The 230-volt (144 watt) AC electrical appliance has international plug CEE 7/7 (compatible with Type E and F receptacles) with two round prongs and two grounding clips on the sides and female contact to accept the grounding pin.

I love my glue pot, it was an excellent addition to my shop. Too expensive for us mexicans to spend that amount on a single item, but worth it. I was astonished with the quality of the materials and the vintage look.

Now i can prepare my own glue and pot pickups without trouble.

is a great addition to my pickup shop

this is the way to pot pickups...this keeps at just the right temp...no worries about humbucker bobbins getting deformed...pictured are some strat pickups I custom designed and built for a great 80s guitarist Ray G. (let you guess the last name)

I saw this on the workbench of the cat that works on my LesPauls and SGs. I asked him "What is that?" 15 minutes later I had a deeper understanding of Hide Glue. He just finished a restoration on a 1869 C.F. Martin original.Stew Mac hide glue played a big part in what turned out to be a remarkable resto. Before, It looked trashed to me or a regular joe, An amazing tool. Hide Glue.
