Easily repair minor finish dings and scratches. When that heartbreaking first ding appears on your new guitar, these convenient ColorTone® markers come to the rescue.

They're a simple way to touch up scratches in old or new finishes, or to repair minor sand-throughs at the finishing stage. Traditional guitar tints are compatible with our ColorTone Liquid Stains and Tinted Aerosol Guitar Lacquers.

Use the handy clear nitrocellulose lacquer marker for spot repairs in transparent finishes, for spot-sealing tints, and to spot-mask bindings and purflings before staining the surrounding wood.

So glad I got them! The amber and tobacco brown get regular use in my shop. More shades of the amber pen would be amazing!

Awsome Product

I have had a lot of trouble matching the clear red lacour on the less expensive Samick Guitars, so I purchased a Cherry Red Touch Up Marker. This is finally the answer!! Made fixing the fractures and missing finish around a lifted bridge a simple fix. with a little care you can make a nearly perfect repair. I have already purchased the Black and the clear and have had great success with quick repairs! I will be buying the rest of the colors soon. This is a money maker!

This has been my favorite purchase from SM . Its really great for aging white bindings , nuts, anything white. also, its better NOT to store this pen with the top facing down.

i was using one of these pens and the tip fell right out of the pen, creating a far worse mess than the bonk i was repairing.

Extremely handy for ding fixes and color matches, esp. for replacement nuts, binding repairs, etc. More gradations of the yellow/amber and more colors would be lovely!

ColorTone Touchup Markers

By John of Carlisle from Carlisle, PA
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, February 09, 2012

The markers work great on small area touch ups. I decided to try the baking soda/superglue filler for the first time. It worked fine, but it does not take the marker color very well, on about fourth application and white still shows. I know Dan's tip was to mix a colored dry dye, I think with this method that's necessary. But pens work super!

while easy to use, I would have prefered the liquid to be a bit thicker in order to build up a coating. however for minor scraches it works pretty good.

I used this touchup marker on an explorer I stained cherry red that got a scratch/partial gouge in the finish. This touchup marker works very well and even after I clear coated over it it held up.Looks beautiful. It is a felt tip and does not over saturate. You will not be disappointed and less work to use than repainting entirely.Thank you stewartmac!! fast shipping and great products!! Never disappointed!!

Works as advertised!

Howdy folks,
I'm totally pleased with the results of the Vintage Amber marker. I've used on a couple of vintage martins recently and it has practically erased nasty scrapes and dings on both adi and sitka tops with very different colors. the marker does not leave a persistent residue on the top either.

Cheers
T
