Conductive Copper Tape

About This Item

Get rid of buzz and interference in your guitar.
Shield pickups and control cavities with this self-adhesive copper tape.

180" rolls for shielding pickups and control cavities to reduce hum, noise and radio interference. The self-adhesive backing is also conductive, so overlapped seams are electrically continuous. Wrap this tape around pickup coils for additional shielding.

Sold individually or SAVE when you buy the set of all three widths.

Conductive Copper Tape surface accepts solder.

Conductive copper tape

I used this tape to build a Faraday cage around the electronics on my 1968 Fender p-bass. It did a great job of cutting down interference. Works a lot better than my old aluminum shield under my pickguard.

I swear by this stuff

It might cost a little more than some other options, but the time you'll save is well worth it. It's very forgiving and blends into itself easily and almost invisibly. The three different widths really help save some scissor time too.

Beware of "slug tape" at your local home and garden store. It's copper, but doesn't have conductive adhesive.

One bit of advice, be careful! It's really easy to get a "paper cut" on this stuff. I use the eraser end of a pencil to help flatten it, rather than risk my fingertips. Still, I somehow manage to slice myself just about every time I use the stuff.

My Strat hummed terribly in position's 2 thru 5. I lined the cavity and pick guard with StewMac copper shielding tape and now she's quite as a mouse. I was skeptical but now I'm a believer...it really works.

Good stuff! A must have on all electric axes.

Well this copper shielding is easily the best I've tried. For the price you can't beat it. This tape sticks far better than cheaper versions sold by other guitar parts vendors. There is enough on one roll to easily do 3 or 4 guitars, possibly more, but I've done a strat and a tele so far and still have about half the roll left. This mod made the Texas Special single coils on my strat much quieter. You will still get some hum from single coils but if you're properly grounded everywhere this shielding in the body cavity of your guitar makes a big difference in the audible hum. Make sure all areas you want to apply this to are as clean as possible but it doesn't have to be perfect. Rock on!

Easy to use and I do recommend the package of 3 otherwise you end up wasting bits and pieces, etc.
