Details

CTS pots have long been the first choice in American guitars. CTS pots from StewMac have even more to like: closer tolerances and longer life!

We've specified these CTS pots to feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered by most other suppliers.

CTS precision audio taper gives you smoother and more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. Crank your guitar up to 10 and the volume swells all the way—no abrupt flattening to choke your playing style.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. A long-shaft 500K-ohm version fits Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

These are great CTS Pots

I've bought a lot of CTS pots over the years and these that are being made for Stew Mac are top of the line. The feel is great. They are very easy to turn with an awesome taper. Additionally, I've measured all of them with a multimeter and they are usually very consistent and right around 500K. Way better than All Parts that;s for sure!

Pot in the mail!

On Monday I ordered a replacement volume pot for my Strat...the volume would cut out, always at the worst possible moment. I bought a CTS 250K ohm, pretty much the standard replacement. It arrived on a Thursday, I spent an hour Friday morning removing and replacing, worked flawlessly the whole weekend (3 shows). It has a nice feel, just enough resistance so it doesn't feel loose and floppy. And no drop outs when flailing away!

Bought for one guitar, now ordering for the rest.

I've been working on guitars for a while, and have played many. But after putting these into dimebag copy with stock electronics, I was shocked to find that the sound I got was better than that of my les paul with emg's. I bought these for one, but now I'm getting them for the rest!

I am rebuilding a 1960's Hagstrom Viking and needed the long shaft pots to get through the body. Finally installed and sounding as smooth as they are to the touch.
