Details

CTS pots have long been the first choice in American guitars. CTS pots from StewMac have even more to like: closer tolerances and longer life!

We've specified these CTS pots to feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered by most other suppliers.

CTS precision audio taper gives you smoother and more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. Crank your guitar up to 10 and the volume swells all the way—no abrupt flattening to choke your playing style.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. A long-shaft 500K-ohm version fits Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

CTS Control Pots

The finest control pots you can buy. Built mil-spec and made to last. Required for better builds, replacements on older instrument and a real upgrade for budget instruments.

Nice upgrade

Excellent replacement pots in my 1996 Tele. Smooth and accurate. Guitar sounds great now especially since I discovered the previous owner had wired it incorrectly. The 500Ks with .022 cap are perfect with noiseless pickup sets.

Exactly what I expected.

These pots are great. I upgraded a Mexican Strat. Pots work smooth, sound great.

Very smooth operation. I noticed a little tone improvement; not much, but there's definitely a difference.

The only pot to use

By Ric from Lakewood

Smooth controls, tight soldering terminals and solid construction make these the only pots to ever use on a good guitar. Alphas are a little flimsy. These will forever be in my guitars...period

Good smooth control response, but be careful pushing on a control knob, the "ears" that hold the pot together bend very easily.

I was doing a rebuild on a Squire Tele and I changed out the pots, wires, etc. Everything works great. The only thing I found was that I had to drill a larger hole in the cover plate to fit the shaft.

slugish to do volume swells with.

These are okay and seem to function quietly. I found them to be rather slugish to do volume swells.
