Details

CTS pots have long been the first choice in American guitars. CTS pots from StewMac have even more to like: closer tolerances and longer life!

We've specified these CTS pots to feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered by most other suppliers.

CTS precision audio taper gives you smoother and more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. Crank your guitar up to 10 and the volume swells all the way—no abrupt flattening to choke your playing style.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. A long-shaft 500K-ohm version fits Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

Good but

By preetcher from Beaufort, NC

I installed these and after about 3-6 months I had to take them apart and clean them. I don't know what happened but they got scratchy and made noise when you turned them. they also had some dead spots in them but I got them working again.

Replaced some cheaper alphas on a P-bass with the CTS pots . To me there are none better than the CTS. Smooth operation and clean sound. I will buy more.

High quality and smooth. It doesn't get better than that.

Replace your cheap pots!

I replaced the stock pots in my Epiphone with these and can definitely hear the difference. The tone knobs work much better along with the Orange Drop .22 capacitors I also got from Stew Mac. First purchase, one of my best. New favorite site.

Not bad

I like the brass shafts, smooth feel. The taper seems to me to be more linear than audio though. You can add a resistor equal to half of the pots resistance between the two ungrounded lugs if you want a smoother taper though so no big deal. Well made so still a good rating.

Ive had some mixed results with CTS pots but not when I buy them from StewMac. Its obvious that they are tested because they are very consistent in performance. Buy them in bulk and save. Smooth to use and clean sound with no crackling.

I installed 1,in my house bass as a tone pot(1 pickup,1 vol. 1 tone W/orange drop Cap.) I was expecting a smooth transition,BUT,the change on this one is very abrupt. I gave it 1 star, because i had to.Wont buy anymore.
